Several hundred modeler's decended on Richmond this weekend for the 2002 IPMS Richmond "Old Dominion Open". The battle-lines were drawn. Tanks were laid down in neat lines facing off against F-14 Tomcats, Kubelwagens, and '57 Chevy's. And the winner was?...
Don't ask me I had to leave early! But I am counting on somenone filling us in on that in the near future. In the meantime you can enjoy some pictures that I took at the event.

I got to meet several other Armorama patrons. Namely Bryan Dewberry (Tin_Can) and Ron Craig (pipesmoker). They were both great. Not at all the stuffy chaps they are online (just kidding guys).

One of my favorite series of mini-dios done by Ed Kennedy from Roanoke. They feature mostly kubelwagens and beatles, some of which were heavily modified for use in the war. Make sure to check out the album "Kubels & Chips?" in the IPMS Richmond gallery (under MODELS).

There were over 300 entries this year from around 200 entrants. The local IPMS chapter did a great job putting on the show and the vendors had an ample amount of inventory on hand to tempt even the most well-stocked hobbyist.

You can view the IPMS Richmond gallery here.

Please Note: If you are the owner of one of the images displayed please feel free to comment on your model/dio and let us know more about it. I am sorry I wasn't able to meet more of you and get names, etc. in advance. Also if you have any problem with your models image being posted here please let us know and we can remove it.
