From 24th to 25th of September the IPMS Austria held its - so far - biggest model exhibition and contest south of Vienna.
Two special topics gave a special touch to this event:

35 year´s anniversary of the winning of the formula one racing car world championship of the famous Jochen Rind, who unfortunately died in the same year in an accident.

50 years anniversary of the founding of the Austrian armed Forces of the 2nd Republic after the Allies ended the occupation of the country.

Therefore not only special categories within the competition and collections of fine models from formula one racing cars and Austrian military vehicles of the past and the present were shown, but also the "real thing" in the 1:1 scale was at the show.

The 24 categories of the contest found many entries not only from Austrian, but also from modellers of the neighbouring countries like the Czech Republic, Poland and Hungary, who did also fine modelling-jobs and took many prizes back to their respective homelands.

Here are some examples of the exhibits. More can be seen at "Wikingers Panzermodellbau".
