Yesterday I went to a friend of me Because he asked me to
When I came there I first had a beer (People who know me will say: "of Course" :-) )
We talked a little and then we came to the subject that was the coolest of the evening.

My Friends wife is writing to an old RAF veteran who was stationed at Biggin Hill, Kent, Britain. He escorted the bombers over Germany in the late war period. Now with every letter he is sending pictures. Some old original Footage, Some new original Footage. But all about his favourite subject the spitfire.
Now the wife of my friend has written to the man that I`m interested in everything that is WW2 related and that I`m a modeler. He wrote back that he liked that so I got the adress ofthe Good Ol` Vic ( that`s the man`s name) And he wrote in the letter to my friends wife that he was eager to share his history.
I left with a very happy feeling and three pictures, one old, one new, and a postcard
I`ll see if I can scan them in this week.

Just wanted to tell you guys

Neat story... always nice to connect our hobby to "real lives", eh?

Very Nice Faust, keep us posted.

On a less serious note, the time I saw this topic, I thought to myself, "Oh My God, what happened now, another bee or a dog?"

You are lucky to have found this guy because many of the veterans do not like to talk about the war.

Yup Guys
Of course I will keep you guys updated. Not a problem.

And for the people who know the bee and dog story. That`s something wich gets told only once a year unless you pay me a lot of money.
For all the people that don`t know what happened with the dog the bee and me.... ask the people who were in the chat box at the time I told the story :-) :-)

Nice story, it's comforting when a hobby connects with other parts of life. Very Cool.

It's always a great experience to meet and listen to veterens...they always have so much to share.

Ronny, you had to bee there (pun intended). Ask Robert to tell you about it next time you bump into him in the chatroom. #:-) It's worth it.
