Hey all
Was cleaning out the spare room today, and found my mums' old airbrush! She used to restore antique porcelain (and the occasional Franklin Mint piece ) and must have shipped it to me a while ago... I know for a fact that she was amazing at restoration, and as such I would not imagine it to be a shoddy AB... That said, it is probably an oldy!

Can't believe I had forgotten about this! Not that it'll be much help for my OD fever...
:-)
Is it a good enough AB for modelling? Or is it well superceded now?
Cheers
Brad

Lucky find, you could always find the local agent and either get a spares pack or even pay them and get it serviced if it need it.

I dont regret my Iwata purchase in any way, it is superb to use and maintain.

Excellent! It looks in good condition as well. I would go to the Itawa web site and see if they have an exploded view of a similar model (I know Badger has them), and then attempt a basic breakdown of the needle, head and trigger mechanism to make sure it is rust free and the springs are... "springy".

It looks like a modern model sold today. Amazing how a good design will survive "the ages".

Congrats, and have fun using it.

Looks like it's still usable! And if you don't want it anymore you could always send it to me, I'd love an Iwata no matter how old it is!

Matt, what is a HP-C...? Apart from being engraved on the side...

I just thought that I would try and point you in a helpful direction. If you follow the link you will be able to download the parts diagram with an exploded view in PDF format, which might help to get you up and running.

You have a superb airbrush in your hands there.

Well here's an update...
It appears as though airbrushes are growing like shrooms in the dark corners of the spare room...
These pics show and identical Iwata AB HP-C, plus another I've never heard of called an Olympos (Japanese) There are a small scattering of spare parts also, and instruction sheet for a compressor I've yet to locate called an Intermatic 'Speedy'...

::EDIT:: Just found the box from the original Iwata, and it has a spare long thing, small thing and screwy thing! And there is a hose with a Paasche moisture trap... This is sounding more and more complex each time...!

Cheers
Brad
