If anyone has logged into your "My Account - Edit profile" page from this point on you will note a notice about confirming your email. This is a new step in the account creation process. If you follow the directions you can do it in about a minute. After you have confirmed a current email you will be able to get the account edit page without a problem.

This function has two benefits. One it will allow anyone who hasn't been able to update their email in the past year+ to do so using the form provided (see the bottom part). And it will also allow me to see how many active user accounts we have on the site over the next few months.

Additionally there will be some new abilities on the account edit page during the next week. For one you will again be able to edit your email again. Also the subscription option will once again be available to add special site features and storage to your gallery space.

Stay tuned. If anyone runs into any problems please note them here.

Thanks,
Jim

Does that mean that the A-Guard is going to be available again?

Thanks, HARV

I've gone through the email confirmation step but now I can't see my forum posts/topics started again from my account and profile page. I get this message when I try to look at my posts.

"Can't get backend file from the server.
Search Results [ SEARCH AGAIN ]

You will need to enter a search term for this search."

Help....

The two were actually unrelated. I made some changes to that page yesterday to fix another bug and caused this new one.

All fixed now hopefully.

Is "shiny" a Canadian saying? I only ask because Jewel Staite use to use it on the TV show Firefly and she is a Canadian. I just assumed the writers had come up with it as some "futuristic" adjective. :-)

Cheers,
Jim

O.K., the e-mail listed is correct. I entered the info under "Confirm E-Mail" and I got a message that said a problem has developed because that e-mail is in use on another account. What went wrong?

Art... you need to send me the email so I can look it up and see. The only thing it could be is that there is already an account using that email. Did you setup another account (or an earlier account) at some point?

Err...wait... or are you saying that the email associated to your account is ALREADY the correct email. In that case you don't use the bottom form (labeled as "change/update your email"). You just click the "send confirmation" button.

Thanks,
Jim

Hi Jim.
Ive tried 2 ways.
1.As my email adress listed is correct Ive just clicked on the " send confirmation email" in the red box,,and
2. re-entering my email adress in the 2nd box and again clicking on the "send confirmation".
I havent recieved an email by doing either method.
Am I doing something wrong?

If you aren't getting the email directly perhaps your ISP is blocking email from our mail server. Did you look in the spam/junk mail areas of your inbox? If you don't get the email using the email you have tried I would suggest using a service like gmail which is not blocking email you want to get and does actually block a majority of REAL spam.

Thanks,
Jim

I just checked and you are both using "hotmail". I think it's likely the email is in your junk/spam folder then. Make sure to mark emails from kitmaker as NOT JUNK and then this won't happen for you in the future.

Thanks,
Jim

Jim just checked but don’t see it in the junk mail (may have been deleted already) so I’ll try again.

Still no luck. (Strange to as the email from support at kitmaker.net about the review cam in fine.)

I’ll set the listed email to my Gmail account and see if that works. (You think there would be any problems setting it back to hotmail in the future? I rarely check the other account.)

EDIT: Worked fine with the Gmail account.
