Well, it isn't German as they don't have the loop for the barrel to pass. It's possibly made by Germans or in Germany, but it isn't for a German rifle is what I'm trying to say.

That's it. That's my bayonet. My nephew and his best friend got it for me for my birthday last year. When was the L1A1 used by the British or are the still using it? I thought that they had switched to the bullpup automatic weapon a few years ago.

BTW, my 18-year-old daughter has recently expressed an interest in collecting bayonets and military daggers. I vetoed that motion as she has her eye on my collection as the start and she goes off to college next month. I'll keep them here, thank you.

Kenny I believe the L1A1 started being used by Britain in the late 50s.
The gun was replaced in the 80s to the best of my knowledge but I don’t know if its still used in any roles or not.
