In no particular order:
Bruce Springsteen - Born to Run
Steppenwolf - Born to be Wild
Uriah Heep - Easy Living
Deep Purple - Fireball
Black Sabbath - Paranoid
They all have something in common - hard, driving tracks!

Jumpin Jack Flash
Smoke on the Water
Yesterday
Babe I'm Gonna Leave You
Born to be Wild
We gotta Get Out of this Place
Roundabout
Maggie May
The Story in YOur Eyes
Baba O'Reilly
Aqualung (the whole album)
Stairway to Heaven
and that's just off the top of my head. add about 50+ more Beatle and Stones, some BeachBoys, Cream, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Uriah Heep, Tull, The Who (TOMMY!!) Yes, Airplane, CCR, and Black Sabbath mix in a bit of Rory Gallagher shake and stir a bit add about a dozen of light weight groups like Tommy James and the Grass Roots for topping . I mean the whole mid 60's to mid 70's was / is a veritable treasure trove.

Top five songs? Wow.... that's a hard order to fill....hmm..... I think I'll stick to top five albums...
1. Pink Floyd- The Wall-you can't listen to just ONE song....
2.Pink Floyd- Dark Side of the Moon- Not really as lyricaly (The Trial is genius, where did they come up with that!?) amazing as The Wall, but darn good music.
3. The Beatles- Seargent Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band- that is a fun album to listen too
4. Jefferson Airplane- Surrealistic Pillow- hmm... makes ya wonder what they were smoking...or better yet, how much
5. The Kinks-Come Dancing With the Kinks- Really fun stuff to listen too....L-O-L-A Lola.....lo-lo-lo-lo Lola.....

Boy Howdy. Trying to pick 5 songs from the 60s and 70s is like trying to find 5 Bob Seger songs that have never been played in a strip bar.
I cut my teeth on album rock, so forget single songs, let's talk total package:
1) Beatles - Abbey Road (my pick over Sgt. Pepper any day; Rubber Soul and Revolver also rank high)
2) Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon (followed closely by Wish You Were Here and Animals)
3) Eagles - Desperado (next best is On the Border)
4) Led Zeppelin - pick one ... they are all great
5) Cheap Trick - Heaven Tonight
Gawd, I could add dozens more. These are just what pops into my mind right now. The first four are solid. The number five slot could change by the minute.
