As some of you know I got hit by a IED on March 3rd with some injuries to my right arm. I was evaced to Germany for a few days, and then to Edmonton. Initially they thought that the elbow was to be fused, but we have gotten better news and they might be able to do more work on it. They are keeping me well-fed on morphine. Hopefully getting out of the hospital soon, and back home to my wife and daughter. Will see how the modeling comes. Keep your fingers crossed. Mike

Hi Mike,

It is great to hear from you, and by the tone of your post, you seem to be in good spirits (all things considering!). You have been on the minds off all of us here at Armorama. If there is anything you need (modelling wise, for your recovery time) please PM me.

Continued success with your recovery, please keep us posted.

Mike,
Thanks for the update. I hope the arm heals well. It could have been a lot worse of course. We are just happy you are back.

Rest up and have a speedy recovery!

Cheers,

Mike

Glad to hear things may be better than first thought. I hope you can escape the hospital soon ( I assume the food over there is no better than hospitals in Australia :-) ) and get back home.

Hopefully modelling can be part of the physio!!!

Morphine can certainly make life seem good.

Mike, am I glad to hear that you're going to be alright. I'm really bad at this sentimental stuff, so have a successful recovery and hug your family every day.

PS- When Shawn Kaye gets back from over there, I'm going to buy him a beer. I understand that he was your medic on site.

Mike, make sure you get some fibre drinks like Metamucil into you

That morphine will bung you up worse than a steady diet of IMP's and Cheese!

It's good to hear everyone's well-wishes. Things are looking better each day. They have actually gotten me out of bed and sitting up for the past few days, and tomorrow my wife wants to play wheelchair ping pong with me in the hall ways. I'm out of isolation now which means no bugs so I can leave my room now. We are keeping our fingers crossed to have me home from the hospital by next Sat. , and hopefully have the arm in a cast instead of the external fixator. I'm going to have to buy a few small models to experiment with my left hand, and it looks like my detailed bradley is going to be put on the shelf for a little while. Thanks again for the well-wishes and talk to you all later. Mike

Mike,

Whatever you do...do not beat your wife at ping pong....you will never hear the end of it.

Glad to hear you will be going home soon.

Your modelling projects will only get better once you do.

Take it easy. I hope you have a relaxing weekend.
