According to Regimental HQ, Mike arrived back in Canada on 6 Mar. As far as sending messages to him, here is the information recieved thus far from the Adjutant:

MCpl Loewen will be staying at the U of A once he arrives. I will have to check with the AO to see if they want condolences sent to the hospital or to their personal home.

As soon as more info is available, I will let you all know.

Ain't war a nice invention of Mankind aye.

Wish everybody could mind his own business and do something usefull. What would the world look like if everybody was scalemodelling or something else that would not harm other people. The world would already be better without fanatics in ANY religion

Not a religious man myself but my thoughts are with Mike and I hope he will recover quickly

I've just heard on the CBC radio news that they've all arrived back in Canada just now and Mike is en route to the Edmonton hospital where he'll be with his family and will get the best of care. There were others injured but apparently don't require hospital stay. They've all returned home now and some are travelling on from Edmonton to be reloined with their families and further convalescence.

Speedy recovery Mike....

Holy jeez... I didn't know about this until now? Shows how much I pay attention.

My condloences to Mike and his family. It's never good to hear of a fellow canadian being injured. It's even worse if they die, but i really hope, and think that mike won't die. If he's back in canada, and felling fine enough to post, then that will be a good sign.

Update:

Mike was repatriated from here the other day. He will convalesce in Edmonton. While he may require more medical interventions, there is a very good prognosis. I can't be more specific than this due to confidentiality issues.

Rest assured, those of us who remain in Afghanistan wish him, and the other soldiers sent home, a speedy and successfu recovery.
