I don’t have a lot of time to tipe right now but I just wanted to ask my family here at Armorama to keep my grandfather is the thoughts and prayers.

Yesterday my grandfather was hospitalized after falling down a set of steps.

As of now he’s doing good considering the facts but he has a few broken bones in his neck and may have also injured his heart.

I’ll keep you guys updated when I find out more.

Thanks guys. It means a lot to me.

Paul I believe he’s 78.
He was also in the navy and is a veteran of WWII and Korea.

Last I heard they were going to give him an MRI (I think thats right) to find out if they would have to operate or not.
They believe he has a lose piece of bone near one of the main arteries in his neck.

There also a little worried about his kidneys but I don’t know the details about that.

They have ruled out any head injuries from the fall now. So that’s a good thing.

I’ll find out more when my grandmother gets back.

As a veteran of two wars your grandfather has been in tough situations before. I'm sure he will pull through this with flying colors. My thoughts and prayers are for your gandfather and your family.

Thanks again guys.

Luckily his hart and kidneys won’t hurt in the fall and they discovered the bone in his neck is not in a position to do any damage.

From the fall all he has is a crack in his neck that will cause him to wear a brace until it heals.

But he’s still not out of the wood yet.

From all the test they did the discovered that he has a 95% blockage in the artery in his neck.
They will have to preform surgery sometime here to fix.

I goot to go so I’ll tell you guys more later.

Jacob,
The fall your Grandfather took was actually a blessing in disquise! They found a very serious problem before it became critical. Your grandad will get the accluded artery repaired and be as good as new in no time. Should be good for another 70 years or so
Again, thinking of your Grandad and your family,
the best,
Charles

Your right CReading.
If it wasn’t for the fall they wouldn’t have found it.

It’s a wonder he hasn’t had a stroke from it yet.

Now I’ll find out more today. Yesterday my grandmother was up at the hospital yesterday but she’s known for not getting the whole story and what she does get isn’t always right.
But what she’s saying is that there going to treat it with medicine instead of doing a surgery. It doesn’t make much sense to me how they could do that so I don’t know if its correct or not.

And Looking at my above posts apparently I can’t type in a hurry.
Sorry about that.

Thanks again everyone.

They’ve put him on medicine to keep the blockage from getting worse but they have to run more tests before they know if they can operate.
He has a heart condition that could complicate the surgery.

His main problem now is that they’ve taken him off the stronger drugs and he’s becoming less cooperative.
He got up and tried to move around the room twice falling again the one time (didn’t hurt himself any). So now they have an alarm hooked up to him that will let them know if he gets up.
