Ok, I got motiveded again and last night I restarted my last project, YAHOO :-)

But ... I need to create weld lines, but is there a good and easy way to simulate this?

I don't know if this maters but I want to ad a welder to the dio and he will use a oxygen-acetylene gas welding tool.

A thin line of Milliput scribed with the point of a X-acto that stops where the welder has its welding point.

well,
I suscefull use the hot knife method....make a piece of thin stretched sprue, and glue it to the model using liquid glue....once in place, take a fine needle and warm it on an open flame, till it gets red....(please insert the needle into a piece of wood first) and make the weldseam along the stretched sprue on the model....after cool, just brush some liquid glue to soften the edges....
It´s easy and effective, try and you´ll see!

I got a few problems .

I got my framework done for my dummy-tank diorama (2 of them) and now I want to put welding seams on the intersections, that is why I made the previos post, but ... I don't seem to get it right

I tried the millyput way (won't stick), the spreu (and glue) way (does not form nicley around the rod) but is does not work.

I think that the problem is that there is no real flat surface, I mean the whole frame is made of 3mm rod. I now have a lot of intersections where I need to put some weld lines on.

I have made a crude 3D skets of the framework before I started and since my digital camera is broken I can't give you a picture of the builded frameworks, but I hope you see what I mean.




Any suggestions are more than welcome

What materials did you finally end up using for the framework? I saw it was 3mm rod but is it wood, plastic, brass...? I'm trying to think of what may work, but I don't know what will stick to your project and what won't, make sense? I'll keep brainstorming ideas If I come up with anything worth mentioning I'll let ya know.
