The b est thing about skype is that it allows you to make calls to land lines and mobiles.....from your PC.

Andy

It says in the blurb on their page that it is for Windows 2000 and XP only. also says good for broadband and may have some troubles with XYZ which I assume is dialup.

Just signed up as briank1960 - but it was such a good year :-)

Time permitting, over my day off I'll be updating my list with the latest names. You will need to approve me before I'll be able to chat. Feel free to call and chat when I'm on. (I only open it when I am available to talk)

Dereki

I tried to add commandpost as a contact and it came up blank

Dave I added everyone to my contact list but they are all "awaiting authorisation". How does this happen do you know? I looked through all the skype propaganda on their site but couldn't see the answer anywhere.

I know it works as I spoke to David Brown last night and now he shows up OK - so I am wondering whether it just means "Ring and if they answer then you are authorised."

Lord Kiwi, I use Windows98 and the download and the test call worked for me. As someone mentioned the description page says Windows 2000, but at least for now, it appears I'm good to go with Windows 98.

Just got myself set up on it. Just don’t really know what I’m doing yet.

I don't have a mic yet so i can only talk by typing for now. (At lest I think I can. Haven’t tried yet :-) )

You can try talking to me any time I’m on.
