To whom it may concern:
When I founded the DSB in September 2002, it was to be a small, fun group of modelers who loved modelling for its own sake. I took up the moniker "Pig no.1" just to be different. What happened?! People using my forum to flame, insult, spam, villify, anger and tryto shame other members of Armorama. WHY?! Just because you belong to MY group does not give you the right to use it as a springboard to hurt others. Yes, I did leave, because this thing I created spiralled out of control and whoever was supposed to moderate it did a terrible job. I used to be Pak40, but I started to feel shame and affected me. So I left Armorama. WELL! I'm back- do I want the DSB back- NO! I want this shut down and the stain of this group removed from the great site that Armorama is. For the good members, I am sorry. It used to be fun. BUT! It is no more. I ask Jim to wipe this forum off of Armorama and that all DSB members change their signature lines to wipe this association away.
Thank You- Chris, ex-Pak40

I'm sorry chris, but I have no idea what you're talking about, I went back a few pages in the forum and found nothing but normal pigginess. I must say this forum has slowed down a bit, but not since the days of uday have I heard any rantings or flames about any member/s. Please, can you elaborate?

I must agree. While I was never a Piggie, and I wasn't around for the famed "uday" incident, I do know that the DSB was a group with its feet on the ground when I got here. The only flame wars I've seen while I've been here have been few and far between, and none of them on the DSB forum. However, I don't follow the DSB forum comepletely, so I could be wrong. Either way, it would be a loss to the Big A. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
  Thanks for your time.

Hi Chris...
I can only agree with David and Mathew, in that during my few years as a member on site I have never witnessed anything untowards, bad or distasteful concerning DSB itself or its members.
It has always been fun with much good humoured banter.
If something happened to cause you to feel this way it must have been before me joining Armorama or I missed it and should be put right.
I do hope you rethink and see the good it brings to all the DSB members and the rest of us.
Best regards
Peter

The only flame wars I ran across (other than Uday) happened in the History section last year and the perpetrator of that has quit visiting us since early June

Chris
Not quite sure what prompted your post here.
As far as I know, we've currently got the DSB Toad tour group build going on now, (in honor of DSB Pig TurretToad), and it seems like we continue to have Armorama members asking to become DSB members, so its kind of business as "unusual" in the Sty

As you mention, you left the Sty, so I'm not sure we're anybody's group anymore, -- but its probably fair to say we exist due to the good graces of Jim Starkweather.
I believe if any member of this site is abusive or out of line to other members, Armorama Staff will handle the situation per site guidelines. If you are seeing this happening somewhere, perhaps a moderator of that forum should be contacted. I don't see that happening in this forum.

Chris, i am not so sure what exactly happened or is happening that makes you feel the way you do about the DSB. I personally have not been privy to any suck episodes since i have been a member.. I wear my piggy number proudly, and am honored to be a part of the group. I agree with Steve in saying that if anyone person or persons has been hurtful or unkind to you or anyone else that you have seen...a simple drop of a pm to one of the "upper management" will quickly take care of it.. I don't see any reason for the disbanment of the DSB.

OK - I've been over here in Iraq for the past 10 ( count 'em 10 long months ) months . The DSB forum has been a bit slow for a while - no real big secret there . This forum has been a shure fire place for me to at least get a smile after a all night convy to and from Fallujah , or a near miss from a IED up north of Baghdad . I dont really see the point in shutting it down just for your own good Chris . We pigs have allways hung together - and we will stay that way - forum or not .

Well, I haven't really been around in the forum neither, due to my busy busy working. (But for them whom care, I move along very nicely, and destroyed a bunch of Fluvvians in my organization...)
This forum has always been as Toady said, a source for smile and laughters.
I guess, you just can't take this forum too seriously, we have a tons of fun, but I am proud to say that our fun have been in most of cases very refined. Nevertheless, I take the brotherhood and the bond here in this forum very seriously. Met tons of great people here.
One of those days, we need to organize a chat to invite all the old pigs to join in again, maybe just to stirr things up a little bid.

That means ya, WWH! May Wisconsin freeze off your
s And Chaddy (oh, god I hate him so much), Obe, long live the sheep, Toady, Gunk, Eel Muncher, etc, etc. Too Many names to mention...

AOL has a free IM service,AIM.If everyone had it,and put their "screennames "on,and shared them,we can do a massive chat. Also many free IM modules permit 1 to 1 talk on the internet.I have used it with one of you.It works.
