OK,it's8:00PM ,90degrees F,a slight breeze, and I am supremely content with a Red Tail Ale from the Mendocino Brewing Co. of Ukia,CA. The paint is drying on a few parts of my Tiger 1 project, animals are fed, wife is extremely happy with me for anothjer day,and I don't have to work untill Friday dayshift. This is hands down my all time favorite summer beer. When it gets cold,I'll switch to Johnny Walker Black Label, and go to single malt sipping at the holidays. What all do you all use for brain/golf swing lube?
cheers 24/7/365 god I love this life!

Hi Rick....

at last do I hear someone say.......a topic close to my heart and very, VERY soon close to my mouth....or even closer.

Oh the delights of a little imbibing, quaffing and sipping.
When I'm home away from this "dry" place I like a good beer....usually Tetley's, Boddingtons or when I can find it....Flowers. I have enjoyed a few Tanglefoots thanks to Merlin's direction on the matter....now there's a man who knows a good beer when he tastes it..... sorry Rowan...had to.
And for a change I quite like a cider or two.

I also like a good wine, apart from the type spelt with a "h". 35 Degrees South for example.
And single malts are a real lifter of the spirits...pun intended.

And I don't care what the weather is like..:-)

Thanks and cheers and cheers again.

Peter

Ummmm Beer, well, there aint much beer that I dont like, but mostly I drink beer that taste a little more that just the average beer. I“m very fond of belgian beer like Leffe or trappiste, but drinking those beers are not a god mix with modeling ....

Othervise I can be bribed with a good Single Malt, preferably a Islay.

Guys, I have bad news for you...

...world's best beer is brewered in Poland and I'm afraid you can't buy it in US or UK :-) My favourite brand is 'Frater' which means monk but there are several other options. For colder days Johny Walker + coca-cola isn't bad the same as polish vodka with apple juice. Anyway it's very important to keep your throat clean in dusty modeling room

Aye, for me it's that delicious (IMHO) and refreshing Mexican swill Corona. Nice and light and does not leave me with that bloated Budweiser feeling after effect.

However, not nearly as much any more as it is 'clashing' with my 25-30 miles per day bicycle ride.

My favourite brand is 'Frater'

I've never tried it Piotr.

Must look out for it next time I'm in Warsaw.

I do like Zywiec...and Lech is ok.

But if its larger I like Stella.

Chesc and Nasdrowie...

Cheers
Peter

Peter, how often do you visit Poland? For Frater you must look in bigger alcohol shops, pubs usually don't have it. It's similar to Zywiec but with richer taste and very nice color for sure very different than most of english beers.

Hi Piotr
I visit quite often...my wife is from Warsaw.
Ul Niska.

I'm not coming to Poland this year as the plan is for my Mama and Papa in-law to come to UK for Christmas.
But next year we probably will come.
Maybe we could meet up with Pawel and sample some of the piwo delights.......

Until then I'll have to manage with Angelski piwo...

Some of my European favorites are:

Amstel (Dutch)
Okocim (Polish)
Żywiec (Polish)
EB (Polish)

There are a couple of dark Russian beers I enjoy once in a while but cannot remember their names.

Ahhh a topic after my own heart.

I like my beer wet!

Then the beer of choice recently has been Petes Wicked Ale.

Winter time - gotta love Capt. Morgans spiced rum, neat.

Ok - is it 5:00, can I go home now, well as Jimmy Buffett sings - "its 5:00 somewhere"

Various real beers, good cider, and for cold days neat Navy Rum or Merrydown Mead (I have some aged for about 10 years - produces a glow like the old Ready-Brek advert on British TV)

Colorado is home to a slew of micro breweries. Some of my favorites are Laughing Lab, Fat Tire, Avalanche. There is a nice brewery/restraunt/bar down town called Phantom Canyon that has some very nice brews as well. I can honestly say my favorite one is whatever somebody else is buying. :-)

Like others when the weather goes cold I like to switch to something with a bit more warmth. Rum is my favorite, but I also like Jim Beam or Canadian Club.

looking through these threads i saw corona mentioned, i got a real taste for this when i was on my hols in mexico in 97 (and it cost about 40 pence a bottle!) also, have any of the uk members ever tried spitfire beer? i must admit i once bought a bottle simply because of the name, loved it and sup it whenever i get the chance, at home i have an old style chunky pint pot thats only for spitfire to get that real ale effect

I quit drinking [ before noon ].
Sunday morning doing the N.Y. Times, Daily News and Asbury Park Press crossword puzzles - Bloody Marys or Grey Goose martinis
Sunday Football - Miller Lites, shots of Baronyeager, Spiced Rum & Ginger beer. [ at my local Gin Mill ]
Sunday night & Monday night games - shots of Tequila with Dabs or Dortmunders chasers, then falling asleep before halftime [ at home ]
After work - Summer - Miller Lites
After work - Fall - Winter - Spring, Aussie Chardoney
After modeling while taking pics. for my gallery - Aussie Chards

Can you imagine if I really drank ?

Oh well like Dean Martin once said " People that don't drink, well when they get up in the morning thats as good as they're gonna feel all day "

And " Your not drunk if your laying on the floor and don't have to hold on to anything ! "

I do not drink while modeling -- too many sharp objects & hazrdous materials around .... I gave up my habit of several Bailey's-laced cups of coffee when parts started being carved & glued at strange angles and places ....

However, I do my online stuff at night & start off with a Samuel Smith's Nut Brown Ale, followed by good ol' Guinness until whenever .... probably accounts for quality of my posts ....

I liked the old (now banned I believe) advert for Spitfire ale:

"Just like the Luftwaffe - downed all over Kent!"

I drink a few Miller lite's from time to time, but nothing hit's the spot like Jameson and Coke for me. Way too smooth so that makes it dangerous. Coronas are great in the summer too.

Unlike some women, I've never met a beer that I didn't like.
St. Pauli Girl is at the top of my list. I find a single cold one is very satisfying unlike Bud Light which usually reqires 3-4.
In the winter I like a shot of Amoretto or Capt Morgan in a cup of coffee.
Life is good. :-)

Almost forgot...it's not the swilling beer that kills the brain cells... it's the glue sniffing. LOL :-)
