You are indeed fortunate to be in the COMET company. Our time, COMET company belongs to the 35's elites and are regarded with high esteem.

COMET company in full force in an excercise is definitely a sight to be behold. The mosts was 3 rafts for rafting purpose I commonly see. Very very seldom do I get to see multiple rafts linked to form a bridge between a gap it is a rare sight. Try getting 150 boats on an excercise and you can understand what is mass orgies really meant.

When Nicoll Highway collasped, I was still having my BITS. At that moment when receiving the news, the first thing in my mind was ; hic will the whole battalion be activated to support the rescue.

The race factor is a well known fact in 35. You have every other race in there excerpt Malay and JW in operational companies. Then we have only two Malay soldiers seconded from the Navy for Training Company. Both were the pioneers for Boat Coy's development. Sadly , both of them reported to their maker a while after they retired from the Army. Current 35 now have more malay drivers then before.

On another note, every personnel in 35 are screened by MSD for security clearance. If in any aspect if your background is in question, you be likely to be shipped out or marked. That was how serious MINDEF view 35 then; and 35 can only be activated by MINDEF alone which explained how exclusive the battalion was.

As the raft commander, having the red jacket and the night stick is to indicate your prescence to the 3 pilots. remember the motto; Swift and Precise. You must land the raft fast enough, unload the cargo and [auto-censored] off as fast as possible. If you are shot dead, your PS take over; simple as that.

And your far bank is supposedly secured.

Malays in SAF>? Well if u ask me, its about clearance. Maybe my time was a bit different. There are some lucky people who meet the clearance to be in certain units. Even commandos take them now.
I was an Infantry Spec, and i just ORD so i will not talk much about clearance.

love the sense of satisfaction too...

Well...Well...Believe me...

The are no other satisfaction apart from completing your 1:350 scale model ship mounted on a stand!

Have you thought about a place to store it once completed and out of the dust infected environment??

Believe me, I am airbrushing my Missouri every week to prevent the dust from accummulating...til I find a proper storage.

I am getting back into1:700 mainly because they are relatively easy to store (or rather have to many sitting on the shelf) and in the meant time, testing out some techniques but the passion will still be accomplishing 1:350 kits. just look at the length of the wooden base, at least 32 inches long.

For those interested in model ship. Check out this 2 site that I had been visiting:

1. www.modelwarships,com
2. www.steelnavy.com

Clearance is one aspect MSD is extremely good at. I guess whoever was in command back then have an inherent fear or too paranoid ; it is usually the old guards with the old mentality.

At least now its better , everyone has equal opportunities. Perhaps with the exception of White Horses who have better options.

For Storage, have you considered a customed built clear acrylic multi bay shelf. You can literally plan how you can display them with minimum intrusion of space and affordable costs.

Yep... Storage is definately a problem... Even the 1/35s AFVs can take up quite a bit of space...

I must agree that acrylic "boxes" will help but they're kind of expensive...

BTW... those are great websites... I've saved them in my favorites for my future 1/350 builds... =X

Have you guys got photos of your entire collection? Would love to see it. Since i only started to seriously get back into modelling about 2 years ago, i only have 5 kitsets with no display cabinet for them.

Yup, Jeremy, have a look at that pic. My 4 Ikea display cabinets are full to the brim! Furthermore, I have 'DIY' ed extra partitions to double the space, still not enuff! My 1/35 Leopold, 1/350 Yamato and U-Boat IX-B is fast collecting dust coz got no space big enuff for them. In the living room, another display case full of Cars, Bikes and WW2 1/48 planes. And stuffed below the TV console is a huge 1/32 Bf-109G with base. I tink my Wifey will not approve of another display case for my builds. She has got only one for her Bohemian Crystals & stuff....

hello guys, i just bought the ROCO Minitank M2B which it call Alligator. It is the exact one but it is in a smaller scale of 1:87. I just also got the Trident 1:87 Hauggland BV 206. And lastly i am waiting for the M6 AVLB by ROCO Minitank from US. I am going to make a small diroma of 3 Commets with those i can find to put on it. Although it is small but better nothing.
