You're a figure painter? they are really good. Care to give out some pointers in figure painting?

I've posted some new pics. hav a look. Any comments?..I don't airbrush so i'm a bit restricted, especially doing camos..To counter this, I weather my tanks heavily..Shd I start investing on an airbrush? Been pondering for very, very long...Need some pointers or guide to use airbrush..my airbrush knowledge is almost zero!!

Figure painting pointers?..I don't tink I'm really that good yet..but here goes..Basically I'll paint the skin flat flesh, then when it dries, I give a coat of flat flesh plus a tinge of brown or orange on areas such as cheekbones, neck line to highlight..Then I'll dilute this mix even further and juz let it run in the eye socket area and the sides of the nose, cheeks, mouth..When it's dried, I use diluted black to do the eyes, inside of mouth, nostrils, ears..For 1/35, i never bothered to paint eye balls as it will most likely turn up like he's in permanent shock!..I only paint eyes for the bigger scale figures...I think highlighting is an important part of painting figures...Hope this is useful...

Welcome Psyfool
Another new Singaporean Modeller! Yay! (Realized you Enlistment into big 'A' in May.. anyway.. Hello!)
Hobby shops I usually go to... Orchard Store, Center Hobby Plus, Morgan Hobby, MH.. (Danny has been telling us about Sunshine Plaza.. I believe they sell good kits there too!)
Oh.. I didn't know we can actually go to Tamiya Showroom (at Paya Lebar isn't it?) to get kits. Must we do a booking or can we just walk in?
Ahh.. German figures are always nicer to built. I've done my DML 1/16. Fantastic details.
Gosh Psyfool... great builds you have in your gallery!
I'm amazed! Hahaha.. You got that 1/350 Yamato too (the one i'm not planning to start on anytime soon). Goodness.. my jaw has dropped to the ground and I'm having a hard time placing it back after looking at the dios and figs you've done!
The Elite_Infantry you got there.. how did you make that flag?
Sorry if this post seems long..

Hi and Thanx Ike..The Tamiya Showroom is open to the public. There's the main showroom w/ almost the complete range and a 'lelong' showroom next door..They clear their older, probably less popular stuff here..I got my Panzer 4, Marder 3M, T34/76 and some figure kits at lelong price.
The Yamoto is not the original Tamiya kit, it's a copy i guess, but just as good for much less. Only the railings were missing. As for the Swastika flag, it's made of masking tape that i painted on...

hey i started off zero in skill wif airbrush..i practice with the tile use to make our kitchen floors..i practice drawing using airbrush...drawing thick lines, thin lines and even doin my signature wif it...it takes time..patience is a virtue my fren...
as for airbrush and compressor, i invested in a cheapo compressor which cost me $300 and i bought a 2nd hand airbrush frm my mentor for $150..it still is wif me..now im saving up to buy a compressor with and airtank...i'll recommend u the place to get the airbrush and compressor once i've found the name card of the place..
its and expensive hobby my fren, but its hell yeah worth every single cent of it....

I guess I shd consider getting one..I always wanted to do those intricate camos for my tanks..And since I also do WW2 planes (mainly Luftwaffe of course), an airbrush would come in handy....Thanx for your inputs Danial....

The tamiya showroom, any idea how to get there? By bus? Their hours of operation too, do you happen to know?
Once again.. thanks.

I'm not sure what time it opens but it closes at 7pm. Sunday is closed I think.

Nd your opinion b4 I buy it...What do u guyz think of the DML 3 in 1 Half track?...I almost bought it a few times but decided otherwise..This time, I tot of doing an agressive diorama with half tracks (prob 2) raiding a village (probably a Russian one) w/ supporting infantry....I tink the kit does not come w/ crew (is that rite?) so I will also get the DML Half track crew to compliment it..Since TMS is recommended highly by u guyz, I guess I shd cehck out this kit there....Must start thinking how to scratch build the village houses...
