Hi guys (and gals),
I wanted to let you all know that Jim had a bit of a collapse last night and spent some time in the Emergency room. He's doing o.k. now but is in need of some rest so I have him bed duty. He can use the laptop from the bed and I'm sure he will check in as soon as he's feeling up to it.
So, here's the scoop. Jim hasn't been feeling well for a few days and spent WAY too much time over the weekend processing photos for the site. Sunday evening, he began to feel very ill and collapsed in the hallway. I called 911 and he was taken to the emergency room. My fear was that he had a heart attack. Thank God, his heart is fine Apparently, he has a severe sinus infection which is causing all kinds of strange reactions including heart palpitations. He was released about 3:00am this morning and has been resting comfortably all day. He says he is feeling much better.
I'm really going to be cracking down on Jim in the near future. making sure that he gets enough sleep and takes proper care of himself. I just know that you guys will help me enforce the new rules

OK, I'm going to finish some cleaning as we have a guest from Poland arriving tomorrow. I'll keep you updated to any changes and I'm sure Jim will check in soon.
Take care,
Kirsten

Ohhhh my!!
Thank goodness he is ok. And, thank you for keeping us informed.
He has set up a great support base for this site and I anticipate things will run smoothly while he recovers. All of us here will crack the whip if he gets out of line and does not obey orders from his commander-in-chief. Please give him our best!
Get well quickly Jim!

Give him our best wishes. Thanks again for keeping us informed. You make him do what he needs to do. I know wifes, mine anyway, are very good at that. Perhaps too good for our sense of independence, but it's for our own good.

Keep him under a watchful eye and make him take his medicine...perhaps he should change the name..."staphjim" to something less infectious...this site will practially run itself...he needs the rest, and plenty of other members can do the job while he is recovering......

Take care of yourself; you will be suprised how good a little rest will do you. This place will surely still be here after you get your sea legs back.

I hope Jim gets lots of rest and liquids. Thank God his ticker is fine. Tie him down if you have to Kirsten so he can get rest. Between having Amorama offline for a while versus Jim's health I am sure all of us here would rather have Jim ship shape.
Personally chains would be best. Just make sure its long enough for him to reach the washroom but not long enough to reach his laptop. (I hope the Head Cheese isn't reading this). My wife once threatened me by inviting my mother-in-law to the house if I spent too much time playing computer games.
Anything we can help let us know. Take care.

Mrs. Jim,
We'll do our best to keep everything running smoothly. You take care of Jim, and yourself.
Jim...NOW HEAR THIS......You are effectively SIQ (sick in quarters) for the next 72 hours (that's the most the Navy can give you) and you will not report back to duty until cleared from the Doc! Understood??? Don't make me come down there and play Chief on you!
Seriously take all the time you need to get well. I'll pray for you and the Missus.

Kirsten, Tankysgal1(Mary) and I want to offer my best regards to you, Jim and your family. It hasnt been that long ago that I suffered a heartattack and put Mary thru hell, so we sorta know what you are going through. We are glad Jim is better and is at home and our thoughts go out to you and him. While you take care of him make sure you take care of yourself too. Kevin and Mary

Get better soon Jim, and rest really is the best cure. I had something similar myself and may have to have an op on my sinuses later this year so I know what the effects of this kinda thing are.
Rest, and when you get back into harness don't overdo it - you are more important even than the BigA.

Do that, and give him our best wishes, and tell him not to worry, this site is almost self maintaining, his health is the most importing.
I will be thinking of him
