And the biggest disapointment Pearl Harbor.

Just a brilliant cinematic experience.

I may get clobbered for this, but I really enjoy Braveheart everytime I see it. I know nothing about the depicted history, but the battle scenes are amazing.
Of course I must also give the nod to Saving Private Ryan, Hamburger Hill, and Cross of Iron.
I've never seen Das Boot, but hopefully will get a chance to one day.

Think I would have to go for 'Apocalypse Now', though not necessarily for authenticityJust a brilliant cinematic experience.
I also liked 'Cross of Iron', though whatever you do, avoid the follow-up 'Breakthrough' which features Richard Burton (for James Coburn) in a 70s British DPM camouflage jacket and goes downhill from there....
BTW1 the unit in They were not divided' is supposed to be 2 Armoured Welsh Guards, which was the only tank unit in Guards Armoured not to have the Sherman, unlike in the film...![]()
BTW2 the Vietnam part of 'Forrest Gump' is better than 'Platoon'. If you want a Vietnam film with a difference, try 'The odd angry shot' about the Australian SAS. In one scene someone actually selects single shot on his M16 - remarkable![]()

Quoted TextCross of Iron, now there's a title haven't heard in a while. That was a good movie.
Very well done.
Directed by Peckinpaw.
We have it available here at the public library, I enjoy checking it out now and then.
Another good one: History Channel's
"The Lost Batallion"
