Guys
jesus christ i dunno how to write this so ill just do it.
Gary Beebe passed away today at 4:30 pm, of Heart Failure, he had been sick with Phneumonia now for a few weeks.
he was 55 years of age.
He was one of the finest men, and friends i had ever known.
He served throughout the 60's and 70's with the US 1st infantry Division, as a Recoiless Rifle operator.
Heres looking at you mate.

My god.....I've been talking with him over msn yesterday.....

I had real fun with him when talking about warships.....he was one of the guys who made me start building warships again. He was one of the by myself most-liked members here. The contact I had with him over pm, msn, and the campaign/warships threads was really one of the best I've had on armorama.

Garry, mate....I'm really gonna miss you.

My sincere condolences to his family and close friends...

k heb een brok in m'n keel (sorry it's a Dutch saying....how to say it in English, I don't know, but it's excactly how I feel)

55... this is such a sad thing to happen. All I could think when reading David's post was "no..... he wanted to be an editor!! ...and I was putting that on hold ...he was a vibrant living human being and wanted to contribute more to friends and fellow modelers!!". To be struck down like this out of what seems like no where is just a tragic waste.

Damn... I hate to sound morose but life is too short. I should have made him a warship editor on the day he asked instead of procrastinating and making excuses to myself why I was not.

Garry...wherever you are. You were a great member of this site. A good man and friend to many. You will be missed.

I spoke to him just yesterday.
He said he felt fine.
He has had Phneaumonia for a while now.
He told me
"I'm so glad that there is so many campaigns coming up now, i really love them"

I never got a chance to tell him that i had signed up for the infantry...he wouldve liked to know.
Things will never be the same without him.

He told me how much he was looking forward to my proposed Vietnam war campaign, we had a lengthy talk about vietnam.

He once told me how he loved going camping by himself every spring, and hunting, and how he would fishing at this lake he knew.

Garry bro, if you guys get the internet in that big old barracks in the sky, i hope you can see this, and i want you to know that i will make the infantry, and i will go further than that.
And i will make this Vietnam Campaign happen.
Cheers mate

Although I'm not a ship modeller I've seen a lot of Garry's work and read a lot of his posts etc. I'm certain that he'll be much missed not just by his family and friends but by all those that use this site.

JIm, could there be a similar 'model of the month' for the warship guys as there is now for figures and aircraft and perhaps named after him?

Well I just came home from Nightshift at work and was checking on MSN to see if I had new mails. It was David who made me aware of this very sad event.
Sadly I didn`t knew Gary that good although I have seen a lot of his work and read a lot of his posts. I`m even more sad that I have never gotten the chance to know him better....

To his family I send my condolences and wish them strength in the coming period. I hope they ever will know there was such a big group of people that was enjoying his posts and his works and that same group will all miss him.

I received the email from his wife and after getting through the emotions, I turned here. Garry was special. He more than anyone else kept the small fledgling bunch of us ship builders together and got so many of you interested as well. It is now going to be up to Dave, Roger, Rue, and me to carry on what he got going. So in his honor, I would like to re name the upcoming Flattop campaign that he proposed in his honor. Jim or gunny please hasten the approval on this campaign

This is terrible news and such a shock. I was talking to Garry a just few days ago in the aircraft forum and his energy and enthusiasm were an inspiration to us all.

Renaming the flat-tops campaign and running it in his honour sounds an appropriate way to say thank you for the immense contribution that Garry made to Armorama. Getting people building and sharing their experience is a very fitting tribute.

My deepest sympathy goes out to Garry's family and friends.
