I'd be interested in knowing what else my fellow modelers are interested in. What other hobbies, collections and past times do you enjoy?

I have five Aquariums (used to have 30) and I have a collection of about 1000 Hot Wheel cars (most of which are for sale BTW), most are 1996 to present, but I do have some older ones...none from the 60's though...got rid of those as a kid, much to my chagrin

I also like reading about military history and maritime disasters.

Recently started my collection of war flicks on DVD.

What do you like?

i like music...a lot, not i dont play any instrument but it has just recently become a big part of my life, the main reason is because i went to a showe of some local bands last weekend, and i loved it (its screamo/emo/post hardcore, in comparison to mainstream bands such as thursday, brandnew, taking back sunday, underoath etc..)
i also love reading about military history and political science!

Will I guess I have short attention span theater here as I have many interest.
I have Aquariums not as many as I use to but still a few, that's mainly my kid thing now.
I collect stamps mainly US .. not an passionate collector, but I try to keep it complete.
In the summer I'm outdoors, landscaping, fishing, riding my motorcycle or my John Deere. (I have a very large yard.) and my house is in a endless state of adding-on or remodelling.
I draw, paint, design and sculpt.
And in addition to scale models I dabble in model trains, which building the building and kits for that got me into larger scale models.
I mess in a few other things from photography to writing and reading history. I like movies from the oldies to the new releases and currently have well over a 1000 DVD's ... and I'm always selling or trading them.
That's it for me .... jeez no wonder I never sleep or have time for anything. LOL

Outside of modeling my number 1 thing is fishing, mainly Salmon and Steelhead fishing. Followed by the outdoors, I like to spend a lot of time in Oregons Cascade Mountians. Hiking, watching wildlife and just relaxing! Next in line is Dragboat racing, nothing like thunder on the water!
But since we have adopted my 5 year old grandson, most of my time is spent at home at the modeling bench. Which is ok, I have a big love for this hobby to!

Cheers ,

Garry

i LOVE beading jewelry. some of the different combinations i can get by mixing stones, crystals and shells turn out amazing! i end up giving them as gifts mostly, but i have managed to keep 2 bracelets for myself! would like to actually sell some of it, but i need to get crackin' building up a supply :-)

photography! i really enjoy it although i've got a lot of growing to do.

im interested in history and travel, working on websites when everything goes ok and i dont have problems, shopping, cooking, movies, pina coladas and getting caught in the rain ( lol ok joking on that last one, just seeing if anyone is paying attention )

favorite smells - boat exhaust on a lake, mid morning forest air, when the sun is just starting to warm up the fallen duff under the trees, fresh pie, lilac and honeysuckle, fresh rosemary and oregano
fave flowers - gerbera daisies
dislikes - eggs and mayonnaise

My main hobby besides model building is collecting comic books. Come to think of it, collecting comics was my first major hobby before I discovered kitbuilding. I also do a lot of reading in all sorts of genres, dabble in PC games, hunt, fish, watch sports, and collect DVDs, especially war, superhero, and anime movies.

Military history, Folk music ( traditional brit/scots/irish), Rock'n'roll, classic cars and bikes. Aircraft, tanks and trucks (full size versions)

I no longer have a motor bike since kids, mortgage etc.; but there's nothing like a big old Norton, and a sunny day (preferably when all the cars are at home!)

Well - Family is huge. Spending time with them, doing whatever interest them, TV, video games...

Personally Bicycling - any kind, mountain, road, short distance long distance whatever I can squeeze in. If it doesn't hurt it's not a ride.

Mines is scootering and the mayhem that follows once we hit the rally site (normally includes 14+hrs boozing sessions) apart from the self destructive lifestyle it bringsas well as that it's classic scooters I've got 2 Lambretta's(well ones in bits) hope to have it finished off this year. Spending time with my dogs as well worse than having kids with those two

I watch a lot of TV/Movies. Many times I can build models while watching!

I collect and modify guns, mostly Ruger 10/22s.

Video games- PS2, Xbox and PC game mostly in the First Person Shooter format.

Coins- I have a nice coin collection. It's not just a bunch of coins in fold but the certified coins.

Construction/Renovations. Although I am Marketing/Accounting by trade I have a lot of knowledge demolishing rooms and renovating them. I've done at least 6 bathrooms and a dozen kitchens. That does not count simple stuff like repainting and re-trimming bedrooms and living rooms.

Computers- I build computers on the side for people looking for inexpensive customer setups.

I know I do a lot more things but I simply can't list them all. I know I don't have enough time in the week to do them all!!!

. Metal detecting (Shermies;-you can find a lot of cool stuff behind the baseboards when you're doing your rehab thing).

. Archery. Got a 50 yard range in my back yard.

. I shoot pool (9 ball) once a week in a league.

. Reading, mostly techno-thrillers (Tom Clancy, David Brown, etc.).

. Photography (35mm).

. Making jewelry, mostly out of junk like old keys, watch parts, etc.

Most of the rest of my "free" time is spent on the around-the-house things.

Wow, that is a tough one! Let's see, I love guns and collect them as well as build them. I love to shoot, especially skeet. I am an avid bowhunter and I shoot 3D tourneys in the off-season. I have a Bassboat and belong to a club that fishes 12 tournaments a year plus the occasional open. Plus, I love to get the wife out on the boat fishing, she really enjoys it. I think that is when I have the most fun. Competitive fishing almost ruins you for recreational fishing.
We have a huge Star Wars collection of toys, memorabilia, and props! I am starting to build a fairly impressive collection of DVD's also!

Really enjoy the quality time me and the Mrs spend together!!!
