in old English there were many collective nouns...a herd of cattle, a parliament of owls etc.

This is a fun version of collective nouns that might be apt for the subject.
You are spot on with a desk of writers...lol.

Overtime...???
A greed of overtime.
a bonus of overtime.
an excuse of overtime.
