Sometimes I still get shocked at how low some people will stoop to make a buck! I saw an ad for this on TV last night. No shame. No pride.

Remember the foundry that bought the steel and made the medallions? International Agile? They have since gone out of business. Karma, folks, it is all Karma.

Second story down at the link below. They aren't "struggling" anymore. They have closed.

This is why the Government has been hesitent in declaring September 11th as a holiday, like memorial day. (I know its called Patriots Day)

Retailers have lost all sence of history or solemnity for the day. Menorial Day, Veterans Day are not held as days to remember the brave men and women who have given the last full measure of devotion, it to sell socks and pants, shirts, cars and appliances -

That's whay Patriots Day is what it is, a day to remember - otherwise this would be the least of the drek being hawked on 9/11 Day --

Al - you're right DISGUSTING

well, looks like everyone now wants to make a quick buck from everything. What I don't get is what does freedom have to do with 9/11?

I must take a differnet view. I know it's sad that there are companies out there that will do anything to make a buck. The "sale" to many, is all that matters. Like they say, "business is business". I have no problem with that motto.

What I do find sick, offensive, and disparaging, is that there are people that will buy whatever it is that is being sold.

Well, Dragonslain, maybe it is just me but I think people ought to have the freedom to go to work (in the WTC) or get on an airplane and go on vacation (any one of four) without getting killed for doing so. But, like I said, that's just me.

yes, that's my point, 9/11 was a big pounch in the face for freedom, some freedom was lost after this, its effects are still seen in Irak , after what 3 years? so how can they say freedom is of a higher quality? that's probably something very patriotic that I will never understand.

Have you guys seen that toy that was like the WTC with a plane atached to it? I think that was worse.

Slight correction. Patriots' Day is celebrated the third Monday of April, officially it is 19 April, to commenrate the battles of Lexington and Concord, just west of Boston, the so called "Shot Heard 'Round the World."

But your point is well taken. I shudder at the sale slogans that would be used.

The coins being minted as such do not suprise me at all. I am suprised it took so long. Nothing shocking about some corporation or individual trying to profit on somebody elses grave misfortune... disgusting maybe, but not shocking.

I'm happy they took them out of the market. Someone who also profitted from this tragedy is the company who makes all those USA flags, I mean, after what happened every family has at least one and one sticker on the car.

Nothing wrong with showing (and capitilizing) on National Pride by buying/selling flags/stickers. We do have a lot to be proud of here in the United States but unfortunately, you'll never get that part of the story in the news media. I have had a flag out in front of my house since 9/11 and yes, I had to go out and buy that as well as buy replacements since and I will continue to do so.

You must have a problem with all of the "supporting our troops" car magnets that are selling for $1.99 each or more (if you can find them) as well?

I bought my magnets from my American Legion post. They were four bucks and all of the profits are going to be spent on care packages for the troops. I thought that was cool idea.
