It's my birthday today (42) and do you know how many cards I got?
NONE!
Not a single one!
If I'd had a wife I'm sure she would have bought me one, assuming she could find time after doing the ironing and gardening.
That's one less than last year and none of my mates has died so I must be even less popular now than last time. I even asked a lass at work for a birthday grope and she told me where to go and what to shove into where.
It's OK though because I've got a rather large amount of booze in front of me and soon it will be inside me.
Happy birthday to me

Happy birthday!

Go do something special and fun for yourself.

Go down to the local and have a

or

. Flirt with the :-)8 waitress. (PS, unless a "birthday grope" is an accepted local custom, such requests are usually met with disdain by most women.)
As to your mates forgetting your birthday, guys have a terrible reputation for forgetting their
wives' birthdays, anniversaries, special holidays, etc. (which have dire consequences!) so you hsouldn't feel too bad. Heck, for my last birthday, I told a friend at work and another from the modeling club I was going over to the local Hooters for lunch and they were to come with me and have a good time. And we did just that.

You'd just end up tossing the card anyway. Do like Al says... go to the local watering hole and have a pint or six and look at all the pretty wimmin. Have a happy birthday what's left of it for you over there in Merry England.

Thanks for all the good wishes guys, you've really cheered me up.
I've decided that by my next birthday I WILL have a wife. She will be thoughtful and caring, she will look after me in the manner I expect and she will obey my every command.
If she doesn't I will send her back to her own country and get a refund.
