Hey Armorama! I just recently returned from a 15 month deployment to Iraq with the 1st Armored Division. Needless to say I have quite a bit of catching up to do. Does anyone know what happened to the AFV Interiors web site? That site was invaluable for modeling! Has it moved? Is it no longer are the web?

It's offline...for now (hopefully only temporary)
the bandwidth got too expensive to keep it running.

Welcome back & thanks for your service SFC!
Sorry about the surprise, but apparently the site editor was having repeated problems with his hosting so he shut down. Lots of folks are looking for a way to get his content back up (A Big A link or sister site has even been suggested...so cross those fingers.
btw- some folks have been able to get in the 'back door' by clicking on an old link to a an individual page. try that- and thanks again!

Hey there yep lets keep our fingers crossed that they find a new server willing to host a very very popular site.

If you need any interier photos of any of the vehicles they had let me know as i managed to download most of the site to my Hard Drive in order to be able to use it till they are back online.

I just want to thank you for your service to the country and to rejoice at your safe return. I've run into quite a few vets lately and I hope you don't have to return to harm's way

thanks to everyone! It's a real bummer that it's no longer on line. I have quite a few vehicles downloaded onto disk if any one needs something. Anyway, thanks again to every one!

I have downloaded the German armor section, including text.... it's on my HD, which reminds me to burn it to a few CD's shortly...

If needed, I'll send the files over ASAP.

Ola People

Is there somewhere a list with wich vehicles that were on AFV interiors? I found that a lot of pages are still online. So far I have located 10 pages each with a working link to 2 or 3 other pages.
If somebody has a list of the contents of the site I can search for more.

Well after 2 hours of searching the web I have a collection of 72 links all leading to different vehicles of AFV Interiors. There are more pages but in one or another strange way they don`t work. Examples of this was the Churchill, Bradley and the SdKfz250/251 series. They are still out there. I made a little Notepad file with all the links and the vehicles they are reffering to. If interested drop me a PM

Doh!! You guys are not doing yourselves any favors by posting these links. Since Brent is obviously trying to shut down the added bandwidth he may well just remove the pages completely. Hopefully they are backed up somewhere.

And to Mike....

I WILL HOST YOUR SITE FOR FREE!! CONTACT ME!

But Jim, we just posted these links for others to see them before they are shut down, but now that you are hosting the site for free, I see it was all in vain....

may I remind something to you all,

When Mike announced the closure of his site there where some postings on ML from some people who had downloaded the site and burned them on CD

They where willing to sell and even give them for free

Mike responded with the request NOT to to this, because a lot of the content on the site is copyright protected and made availuble under the context that it would not made availuble outside the site (even if it was for free)

If Mike is truying to get the site back up, then spreading this around will not helping him.

And like Jim said, even these direct linking will use bandwith and could get Mike in trouble

I would suggest to remove these links here

You do realize this thread is from 2004; 14 years ago? Half the posters aren't even here any more.
