Well here goes, as you might have read on https://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/36392&page=1, Costas (Major_Goose) lost most if not all his scale model building equipment and models in a fire.

The aim of this Group Build is to help a Friend get back to building these (NOTHING ELSE!):

Well, I have it from a reliable source , that his birthday is on the 25th. I think we should coordinate his Birthday presents, as I know many of you will be sending presents, and to ensure that he does not get 2000 side cutters or such.

Due to constant ‘Retail therapy’ I have ‘PLENTY’ of spare ‘model building’ tools, off the top of my head we have a requirement for:

Knife sets, scalpels, blades etc…
Pin Vices, drill bits etc.
Pliers, Cutters (Compass cutters etc.)
Saws, blades
Scissors
Tweezers
Magnifiers
Decals, pastels, paint, scenery materials etc…
Plus a kit or three

So, if you have some spare tools etc, Please list them, get the address and send them!

PS: You won’t get a medal for completing this Group Build, just appreciation!

Well, I'm just getting back into modelling myself, so I don't have a lot of stuff in the way of tools etc. but I have a shipment of models on it's way and I can probably send on of those. Plus I have a couple of Vallejo skin tone colors that I will not be needing since I've decided to switch to oils. I hope I get the models in time so I can send it on his birthday. But I will send it nevertheless. I really don't know Costas, does he use acrylics? And does he prefer a specific type of models? And how do I get his adr. Thanks.

This is a cool Idea to get this organized like this. When I heard my friends bad luck I started packing some things. Xacto knife and number 11 blades, liquid cement, 45degree tweezers. And tons of ground cover for his dios. I was putting a package together for him before this happend and have added some extras. So far it looks like the only thing that was salvaged was the compressor which was in another room. He could use anything else!! All his stash was melted into a big ball so I am sure kits would be appreciated as well. This is a great site where everyone can come together in the time of one of our owns need. Cheers Kevin

Count me on 'something' I know I've got something I can add.
I've got a couple duplicates of some tools (bits, files etc)

When I get home I'll check and see what's offered and on my bench.....

Apparently he's a bit of "figure" man. Let me see, but I think I have a 1/16 figure somewhere he might like, of which I'm sure I'll never build.

I'll get back on to this later today...

Well, since Costas and Engin (Graywolf) were the guys that helped me most with sending me models and stuff for modeling, i will surely be in this action

Since tools are too expensive here and hard to find (good ones), A package of two 54mm figures is getting ready to set sails for greece

Costas, my great friend! if i could i would pack all the stock i have (eventhough its not big as u know) and send it to you!

But, thisway, theese figs and a new G4 Supergaleb (if i manage to digout another one) will be my try to ease your returning to modeling waters!

many cheers from Serbia

I have some paint brushes, fine grit sand paper stirrers and cotton buds (q-tips) and maybe some tubes of oil paint (if they can be posted??)

I'll PM Costas for his address - but I don't think it would be a good idea to post it generally here. (security etc etc).

I have a lot of spare figures that I never used, you know you buy a box of 6 or so figures and you end up using only 1 or 2. Pass me his address and a selection will be on it's way. By the way be careful if you want to sent Costas paint, glue or the likes as the air people can take a very dim view of these matters. Like wise with sharp implements. I think it would be wise to check with your shipping/post agent if it's ok and if it needs to be marked. Just a thought.

I must say that I'm impressed with the response of everybody on this site. It's good to know that if the worst happens, friends may be on the other side of the world, but they are only a mouse click away.

Cheers

I've not personally chatted or pm'd Costas but have seen his work periodically and it would be a shame for him to have to quit. I would love to send some goodies as well if I could get his address. There are really some great guys here to get things like this organized in times of need. I'm proud to take part in such a place with a post now and again.

Savage,
this is a great and noble idea!!! Be sure I'll give my contribution too... May be that toolwise I've not that much spare, but I'll have no problems with a kit. By the way on the 24th, 25th and 26th on Sep there will be a big hobby expo here in Milan so if i bump into sumething handy I could possibly buy it...
Count me in anyway!!!
Ciao

Hi,

I can send some acrilic VALLEJO paints, they are not flammable so there is no problem to send by mail.

Can someone PM me his address ?

Good Grief! What am I going to do with 4 hot glue guns? I've also got some odds and ends (compass, scribes, etc.) so if any of that will help Costas, please PM his address. Meanwhile, I'll keep rooting around for other stuff.

Guys, all I can say is Thank You! Your response is inspirational!

As to Costas special interests; “Figures”, as Faust says “Costas is completely into figures, pre 1900 figures”.
Judging from his photo gallery though, he is more than able to put just about anything together with great skill.

Once again to those sending items thanks. If anybody has any spare reference materials (magazines, books, pamphlets etc…) I believe Costas would have use for it, as his were destroyed!
