Hello Savage,

I haven't seen this post until now. But I have seen Kostas post about his accidant.
Since I am relative new to the hobby I don't have much spares so I sent him a kit of a Pak40. My gf posted it today. I know it is not really much but I hope that if everybody sents a little contribution Kostas will be back on his feet soon!

Greetings Lars

Dear Armorama members,

If this is the right place to say this, you are something else! Here is a guy on a little island in Greece. He has a fire. Hey, we read headlines of huge tragedies all over the world. But, Costas put the human "face" to his personal (Greek) tragedy. And what happens?

People from all over the world open their hearts, their (over) stashed hobby collections, their support and unselfishness. How about that? We learned or were reminded how fortunate we are (no one was hurt in the fire) and Costas learned he was not alone. He didn't ask for help, but many jumped on the opportunity to do what the bumper stickers says, "Perform random acts of lovingkindness!"

I love this web-site. If this wasn't the greatest example of what the Inernet and this site is all about, then send me to Kansas. Oops. I live there already.

Hey, Costas:
In case nobody has mentioned it, we're looking forward to pix of you and the family in the new and improved "Ding Ding" room.

Thank you very much for your contribution Lars. As the members here would tell you, this thread’s not about how much you send, just about coordinating it and saying thank you.

To all those members who have sent, and those who will be sending, something Thank you very much! To those who went the extra mile (or forty), all I can say is Thank you so very much!

Sealhead; I haven’t seen the bumper sticker yet “Perform random acts of lovingkindness!" but I like it!

Art, sounds good to me. Costas, if you don’t mind, maybe you can keep us up to date as the parcels arrive, and as you slowly rebuild your Lab / hobby room, thus we can remain involved with this aspect of your life.

Costas as you open each parcel, you will know what was meant by “You’re in our thoughts (and prayers), our best wishes go out to you!”

On the one side of the scale, Amish folks help each other in many ways including a Barn-raising. Well here, on the other side of the scale, we an online community got together and participated in a hobby room “rebuilding”. The only difference I see is fewer blisters :-) and most of us (the members of Armorama) don’t know each other personally!

As this thread starts the inevitable wind down, I would like to say THANK YOU, one and all who helped out. To all of you I wish; That in your time of need, there be someone to lighten your burden!

Thank you again

Costas,

My package went out today, sorry for the delay but the Navy forgot to pay me last thursday. What a mess! Let me know when it arrives. There is something for the little one too! Cheers!

Posted the first package, containing tools, out yesterday. I was pleasantly surprised at how cheap it was (virtually the same price as local carriage). So I shall be sending a few more items (mainly because I forgot to include the cutting pad and smoke detector).

Regrettably figures and scenery are not my forte, and in addition I have not unpacked my kits since the house move, so progress is slow at best.

Fortunately I usually buy a set of figures / accessories for one or two items and am slowly sifting through the debris that is my hobby-room and stash for applicable items.
