I need some sheet styrene for the Abrams project I am doing, only thing is I need large sheets of it, larger than evergreen's 8" X 10" stuff. Does anyone know of source for 4' X 8' sheets of .070" and .060" sheet styrene?

Try the local Yellow Pages under Plastic Suppliers, or Wholesale Plastic. You could also try sign shops. They use large sheets of plastic to make vac-formed, dimensional signs. I have never heard of any hobby suppliers carrying sheets that large. You may also want to try your local Building Supply store for that thickness too. It will probably be pretty expensive though. Sounds like you are making something large. Would thin plywood, or luan work better? It is going to be much cheaper.

Sounds like you want to build a full scale tank there! :-)

Hi Rob

LOL!! I was ready with a standard answer until I realised just how big the sheets are that you're looking for! I guess you could always try contacting Evergreen to see if they can supply the sheets un-cut....

It'll be interesting to know how you get on with this quest...

All the best

Problem is there aren't any plastic supply stores in KC. Know of any retail outlets online?

I hve found that the Plastruct website has larger sheets of styrene available for about $6 or $7 so I think I will go with that. Thanks for everyone's help.

Your local hardware store has "for sale" "for rent" "no tresspassing" signs. these are usually styrene and cheap.

just a thought...
