I agree that I can't answer this since it will incriminate me.
My credit card sends a yearly report with the a pie chart showing purchase catagories...
You should see the 'hobby/recreation' section...
and I just sent Scenic express another US$65 yesterday for Supertrees and Heki grass..
I'm chronic...

I was going to say not very much, but thinking about the number of books I've bought this year perhaps it is quite a lot after all. Specially since I am a terrible impulse buyer.
Like getting the Leopard trilogy (£90) since it might just help me get around to building the 4 Italeri and Revell Leopard 1s I haven't quite got around to starting.
And I did save money while I was working in France earlier this year - even though it was a place where Steel Masters was available in supermarkets!!
Still, impulse buying does pay off in the long run, I've got a copy of Hunnicutt's Sherman bible, and now I've started building Challengers, I seem to have almost all the reference books already.

Quoted TextI did some looking in my Quicken records and since January of 2001 I spend nearly 10K on the hobby!

Yeah well from 2001 till August 2002 I wasn't paying that much in rent since I was living with my parents...my spending habits have slowed down since then and I think I spent like 1000 bucks so far this year.
I have to see where it all went too when I get home.

Since starting back into this hobby about 3 years ago I have spent a little over US $2000. I now have about 60 un-built kits. I have been doing better (or worse depending on one's perspective) lately and have not bought anything since the spring. The nice summer weather keeps me from spending much building time. My wife's hobby (she owns a horse) keeps on costing money every month so I don't feel guilty when I spend. By the way, what is a 'LHS'?

Excellent! Them having a 'more' expensive hobby means less sneaking in of new kits.. but who's keeping score? :-)
