Hi.
My name is Angela. I'm from sunny Cebu here in the Philippines.

I'm a girl who has been modeling for quite some time now (18 years to be exact). I'm now 28 and I work as a trainer. I'm also into Role Playing Games.
I now have a lot of models in my display cabinet at home. My present project now is a winter scene diorma depicting a briefing. Vehicles include a Tamiya sdkfz 223 and a sdkfz 7/2 anti-aircraft gun mounted on a half track.
I've always been a stickler for details. I scratchbuild and superdetail my models although aftermarket parts are very difficult to find here in the Philippines. Neverthelss, I find your site very helpful and I have found out a lot of alternatives.
One thing though, I hope I won't be ostracized since most modelers are male and I'm female.
Anyway, I just want to say hi and I'll be looking forward to posting some more intersting things.

Hi Angela
Ostracized for being a female model builder, more the opposite I would think. Actually, a while ago, there was a thread going about needing more women (model builders that is) on this site. I think with:

Thank you for the welcome guys. I feel much better that you welcomed me here.
I will post some pics of my vehicles and diorama (and me!) as time goes by.
I have to warn you though. Although I modeled for 18 years, I'm fairly new to superdetailing and scratchbuilding. The reason mainly rests in the fact that aftermarket modeling materials are very hard to find here in the Philippines. True, there are good kits, supplies and others but we don't have things like Celluclay, photoetch buckles, more detailed aftermarket tracks, MIG pigments, etc.
That means, I'll just have to make do with what I have. Sadly, it might come to inaccuracies.

But anyway, I'm just glad to be here so I can learn from you and I'll have a chance to share my work with you.

Welcome to the Big A.
Join a campaign, group build, and get to meet the guys and gals. Yep, there are other women here also, so don't be shy.
We are a rather friendly bunch who like to laugh, joke, and kid around besides making models.
I'm sure you'll have a great time here.
As I'm sure everyone will enjoy seeing your models.

Angela
Greetings and welcome from another "New to Armorama" member. Look forward to exchanges of info and ideas concerning dioramas. With your "223" diorama, do you have a particular interest in German armor as I tend to have for my subjects? Would appreciate any ideas and/or inputs on a diorama dealing with "Battle of the Bulge". I especially like the open atmosphere and "family" aspect of the site. So having a female point of view is most heartily welcomed and anticipated. Maybe we can even help out and send some of those hard to find goodies your way. Look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Blade,
Sorry I wasn't able to reply to you right away. I didn't know that there were people who greeted me after I posted this.
Anyway, my diorama (and this is my first although I've been modeling for many years) depicts a briefing of German soldiers/reconaissance team with an sdkfz 223 near an sdkfz 7/2 anti-aircraft emplacement whose crew is relaxing and having breakfast. While they are doing that, some Fallschimjagger and Volksgrenadiers passed them by, apparently going to the front lines.
This is an early winter diorama. I planned to depict the movement of troops to the front in the Ardennes, during the Battle of the Bulge. I'm pretty sure they used the sdkfz 223 for reconaissance purposes on the Allies movements. However, I'm not really if the sdkfz 7/2 was used in this theater. I'm reasoning out that if the Allies were to somehow use air support, that sdkfz 7/2 would be there to help repel that attack. The scene is somewhere near, but not inside, the battle zone itself.
No, I am not interested solely in German armor, if that's what you mean by your question. I'm more into any World War 2 subjects, modern subjects and sci-fi projects.
Hmmm...ideas for the Battle of the Bulge. I actually seen the movie. I like a particular scene where a Tiger tank (or was it a King Tiger) crosses a bridge and pushes a blasted Sherman off it. German infantry follow the Tiger, using it for cover.
Till then. Take care.

Angela -
Remember that scene well and love the idea. Problem now is that I'm also looking at another subject (JagdPanther assigned to 12 SS Panzer) as a subject for the "Bulge". I just might have to work on two dioramas now. Just more fun. As to the Sdkfz 7/2, I'd say that would be a fair assumption as Panzer Divisions typically had a Battalion of Flak assigned. I've been focusing on the "Armor" and "Diorama" forums and saw your fantastic Sdkfz 7/2 & "223". The detail and presentation jump right out. See you in the "Forums".

And they build some awesome models just OOTB or from scratch building just like you do! So your going to fit right in here. The best part is enjoying model building and sharing in this great hobby we are all so fond of!
Welcome aboard!
