I think my record was 4 models, but most of the time it's just 2. I've been trying to avoid making multiple models at once because for me, I ususally end up with one model unfinished and put on hold, unfortunatly so far I didn't have any luck with avoiding this. :-) :-) :-)

almonkey,
One and one only at a time. I have found that I can concentrate fully on one model, and then get it finished. I have to admit that I love building them, and I love completing them.
Ciao for now

I do one at a time (most of the time), but sometimes 2. Never more than this though. Not enough space on my bench.

I had eight projects going at one time, but ended up shelving them as I was spinnig my wheels and not getting anything done.

Now I have two Crusaders in process. A Mk 1 and a Mk 111.

From now on, NO more than two of similar vehicles

I usually build and paint only one at a time. Then I accumulate three to load up with stowage and final details. To me the longest part is the equipment placement.

Usually no more than 2.....but I have been known to be working on more than that at once....especially in the few weeks leading up to a show....trying to get everything done.

Right now I have 2....it was only one, but the one was the ICM GRAD which had been giving me fits, so to ease the tension I started an older Italeri Leopard 2, A1 model I believe.

Alot less stressful than the GRAD....so I work on the GRAD until I start to get fed up, and then go work of the Leo, or work on the GRAD until I can't go any further...ie: waiting for paint to dry, etc.

The Italeri Leos are really nice kits, have to thank blackfly for that one, he built one and said it was an easy OOB kit, and pointing me to one on Ebay...so I grabbed it. And he is right, really nice kits....must be why he has 2 more on the way of differing varients.

I have the old Italeri Leo 1 A4, which will be turned into a Canadian C1 Leo....but that will be a build down the road sometime. Hopefully it will be as nice of build as the Leo 2 is so far!!

I only work on one until I get to the weathering and final details part then put aside till I have enough models to just do one full clear coat on about 3-5 models.

Then I wash them all with the right wash then drybrush then pastels ( MIG production).

Then I set up up the dio part on the desk and go from there.

Happy Modeling

I try to focus on one, but usually get a log jam when it comes to painting. It seems like such a produciton to drag out the airbrush and compressor, I usually wait until I can spray a couple kits the same day. For instance, I have an AS-90 waiting to be sprayed, an airliner and another kit almost to the point of need paitn.

Usually two(or more) but keeping it at two makes focusing reasonably possible.

I keep about 4 to 6 going at one time. 1 or 2 in 'rough' assembly, 1 or 2 at the 'factory fresh' stage, and a couple somewhere between decaling and the final stages of weathering.

My current list:
1/25 Panther--final touches

1/35 Leopard 2A5--final weathering

1/87 Leopard 2A4 and a Leo 2A5--airbrushing done, awaiting drybrushing, final touches and weathering

1/9 BMW R-75 with Feldgendarme (this one is my project for the 'Move It' campaign)--engine finished, awaiting frame (chassis) assembly. And since I may not get to him for a while I am counting the figure as a separate kit

1/32 F-16A--started in 1992, not touched since 1998. Would this count as 'in work' or abandoned?

I usually have 3 or 4 going. I try to do similiar things that share some of the same paint colors. I try to get most of them ready for the airbrush at the same time. If I'm doing a zimmerit model, I try to do two, if I have them waiting to be built. If I only have one to do. One it is.

I guess you could say I have 5 going on right now, but one is been in partial status for 4 years now and likely to continue that way for a while longer. Hope to finish 2 up this week and one more next week

ummm... all of them!

I have a terrible case of MADD -modelers attention defecit disorder-

In the last week I have actually worked on

Bandai's Gundam Val Walo space ship (Paint)
Panda's 1/35 Uh1-D (decals)
Hasegawa 1/72 F16 CCV (decals and repairs)
Trumpeter's 1/35th Hind (detail work)
Skif's 1/35th BMD1 (basic construction +Eduard)
Trumpeter's SA-2 (repairs and finished construction)
Fine Molds Tie Interceptor (final assembly)
Nitto's 1/20 SF3D SAFS (weathering)
Italeri's 1/72 Hind E and AH-1W (basic construction)
and a couple of random Panther and Tiger bits too

When we lived in an apartment I usually built kits up to the point that adding the next part meant that the kit no longer fit into the kit box.
Now that we have a house, and I have a 'hobby ' room, I have quite a backlog of partially built kits to work my way through.

This week, I'm going to get out the Skif BMP3, Trumpeter S-tank, and a Hasagawa Macross Valkyrie as well.

I might even finish 2-3 kits this week.

My build rate is much faster than my painting/weathering rate. Given this, I have about twenty projects in the "factory fresh" stage.

But serious projects number four right now. Two Panthers, a BRDM-2 and an AS-90.

I think part of my problem is I have too much room to spread out!

One at a time. I'm a kitchen table occupier, so to keep the natives happy, one at a time works. On a rare occassion I'll build two at once. I will, however, research one, while building another.

If I'm building a series like I am now I can have up to 4-6 going at one time. usually though there are 2 in build stages another 2 on the painting blocks and a few figures to keep me sane.

Im another that has too many projects underway at the same time. At one stage last year, I had over 25 going, and have spent the last year trying to bring it down. Still on the workbench is

1) AFV Club - M88 (90% built)
2) Revell - M88 (60% built)
3) Italeri - M7 (100% built and adding AFV Club indy tracks)
4) Italeri - DUKW (Primed)
5) Tamiya - M5 (base coat)
6) Tamiya - M3A1 (base coat)
7) Italeri - Chevy Gun tractor (weathering stage) [Move it campaign]
8) Tamiya - 25 pdr and limber (weathering stage) [Move it campaign]
9) Maquette - SU76M (90% built) [Incoming campaign]
10) Airfix - Battelship Vasa (30% built) [Swedish Steel campaign]
11) Tristar - DAK tank crew (ready for base coat)
12) Dragon - Florian Geyer (ready for base coat)
13) Dragon - Panzer riders (90% built)
14) Tamiya - 1/16 marching soldier (weathering stage)

This is way too many still for my liking. Im determined never to just to leave something in a box unfinished. Hopefully this time next year IŽll have it down to my target of 3.
