Happy birthday, America!

We have lots of stuff going on around here to commemorate the Lewis and Clark bicentennial -- Kansas City, Leavenworth and Atchison all have big celebrations underway.

As usual, Fort Leavenworth is hosting the annual fireworks display with the City of Leavenworth. No brews for me today -- I might have to go to work. A group of anarchists are supposed to show up at the gate of the fort to protest this afternoon. Depending upon how that goes ... well, it could get interesting. Here's hoping it all stays low-key and sane.

Happy Independence Day. This does seem kind of weird given the large amount of UK members.

I'm just about to go out and get me some fireworks and I am gonna BLOW SOMETHING UP!!!

Pyros: this is YOUR weekend.

Yes Happy Independence day to all. Although my English "Mum" always used to say they were taught a different version of the whole Independence story. According to her they were taught, "We just didn't want you anymore, you were more trouble than you were worth."

Just remember the old joke. "You Yanks say that taxation without representation is tyranny. Now you're learning what the British learned long ago, that taxation WITH representation isn't much better."

Happy 4th all.

Halfyank - do you find you are at odds with yourself today? Should mean twice as many fire works I guess.

Kennan - Sounds like a good mix (raising one eyebrow in "The Rock" fashion) a cooler full of beer and a truck full of explosives?

Have a safe holiday all!!!

Happy Independence DAY!!!

I think the best place to see fireworks is on the beach in FL where there in front of you behind you to the left the right over head for hours there was a guy who started at like 7:30 pm and I passed out about 2:00 am an he was still shoting them into the ocean. He must have spent thousands dollars aleast.Every inch of the beach there was fireworks. My daughter got hit with some small debery she's OK. She had fun though.

God bless ALL

Have FUN, don't get hurt.

Happy Modeling

Pyros is right!

In 24 hours my FD ran 100+ calls, 80 of those were fires, 80% of those were fireworks related! YOW!

We started running at approx 1500hrs on the 4th and finished up at around 0330 this morning (7/5).

Hooray for shift change!! A Shift came in and B Shift RAN out the door.

The best blaze my engine handled was 3 palm trees torching into the night sky, deckguns made short work of those!

I hope all you folks had a great 4th!
