Howdy Dave,
Actually, I had planned to 'reach out' to you on this...(hear any 'Joiseyian'?).....
Anyway, I grew up (in my early 'adult' years) in Newark, N.J. Attended Vailsburg, H.S. (a 'suburb' of Newark).
I used to go "Down-the-Shore" almost every weekend in the summer's I lived there. I also used to go on CYO trips....know who they are?
Saw an uknown band(at the time...'68) who was co-headlining with a band called the 'Byrd's' who went by the name of Pink Floyd (I think) and regularly stopped by a local pub in Seaside Height's called the 'Chatterbox' that on weekend night's hired an unknown young screamer called Bruce Springsteen.
Loved him, had many a fight outside the 'Chatterbox' though.......
Tread.
Oh, my 'Da' had a 42' fishin' boat docked just north of Point Pleasant as well........

Born and raised there. Bergen, Somerset, and Morris counties, northern Joisey.
I know I don't count now, but couldn't help throwing my nickle in the Joisey pot.
I have a bro who is still there in Morris county. He should be along here in this post soon.

And YOU!......'Grumpy'!!.......should have known you'd be guilty!....
Let's see.....Hudson, Bergen, and Morris.....hmmmmm?........sound's like you ended on a good note then huh?...

Try Essex (I had a very good friend who inherited a bar in the 'Ironbound' section of downtown Newark), or (what's the county for Elizabeth and Jersey City?). Now you're talking "houstzpas" (sp?)
Heck, I remember ridin' with the 'Newark Night's' after I got back.......those were the days.....
Awwwww, heck......I'm gettin' carried away........need to 'shut-up'.

Hey folks,
Most of my family is still in NJ. I moved from Philly to Mt. Holly, NJ in 8th grade. I lived in Burlington County and then Camden county for some time.
I'm living in GA, now.
