Mike
On behalf of all the other Canadians, thanks for taking this on.
Absolutely! Bloody good job both Mike and Bryan.
Question. Did you scan an image of the "Canada" bar or tart it up on your own?
I ask because it seems that several of us wouldn't mind a distinct unit bar and, while it is asking too much to put it on the ranks, having a template that individuals could mess with to make our own bar might be cool . We could put it on the image section at the bottom of our sig boxes if we wanted.
Persoanally I wouldn't mind messing with a bitmap file to make a Royal Nfld Regiment bar, whatever that is, at the moment.
If you have such a template, would you mind either posting it or emailing it to me?
Thanks,
Paul

Thanks Paul,
I agree with you that Mike has done a great job as well. Paul, if you want a banner for the bottom of your posts just pm me what you would like and I can make it up for you no problem. HTH
cheers,
Bryan

Unit flashes would be very easy for me to do. In fact, given the larger size of sig banners, they would look even better than on the rank badges. Let me know what you're interested in and I'll add it to my list of things to work on. :-)

If we can get unit titles, I wouldn't mind having ENGINEERS on mine.

Damn, boy! You are _GOOD_!
Thanks a lot! BTW Is there a preferred size for the sig box images? Some look squished as if the software compresses or elongates to filla specific size. Is this true?
I have Corel, and I'm not afraid to use it! :-)

Hi Paul.
Glad it works for ya:) I cant take credit for the design though. I just took a scan of the real thing and cleaned it up a bit. For the banner size I believe they are standard banner size of 460 long by 60 high. HTH
cheers,
Bryan

I find it amusing that they put 1 in front of the R implying that there might be a 2 RNR somewhere in the universe. I'm sure that the entire RNR at the moment probably only fields about a full sized company or maybe two.
Interesting tidbit:
In the early 60's the RNR was the only infantry regiment that had it's own integral artillery component. The reorganisations of the Militia at the time disbanded the 166 (Nfld)Field Reg't of WW II lineage and folded the task into the RNR giving the unit several companies of infantry and a couple of batteries of artillery at the same time. The Artillery component was finally taken away in the late 60s, I think.
Thanks also for the banner size info. I'll squirrel away on something this weekend when I should be building a model...

Here's the first two "shoulder titles" made up as banners. If you want anything else, ask me. If you want to use one of these, save them in your gallery as I will probably delete them over time.

BTW, I sent Jim the first of the rank files.

I sent them off to Jim in early July. He said he would get to them eventually. This sort of thing is a justifiably lower priority item for Jim. I'm content to wait.
BTW, any comments on my new banner?

Yes, it's very patriotic of us isn't it? Terribly unCanadian, I'd have thought...
