i shall be starting the M3A3 tommorow. i have a day off work, so much modelling will take place!

ive done plenty of research for the build, and british stuarts often had loads of stuff chalked or painted onto the sides, so adding my pig number will be easy!

cheers

Hi all,

The Bv 155 has had a bit of work done. Cockpit done and fuselage and main wings together.
Some work needed re: some ill-fitting parts...wing roots and the radiator fairings.
Also noted when its time to add the main undercarriage legs they will need to be better secured than a butt end of the legs and a pin prick of a locating hole in the wheel wells.
Will post pics early next week before further work. Have to find a daylight slot for shooting and this weekend in Bahrain.

Good luck and fair modelling to all.
Cheers
Peter

Ok,The Bison is under construction.I have the hull together, and the tranny and driver's area set.I guess I will have to paint the drivers area before I progress more.I am also in the midst of "dressing the upper hull" with various hatches and whatnot.

Fellow Pork Loins

In the true spirit of this build, "Da Pershing" is still sitting exactly where its been for the last year, ---> In Da Pig Pile!!!!--

The problem seems to be its stuck behind two cases of the local malted beverage (aka beer), and as a true Pig, I feel I must complete consumption of those cases, prior to moving those cases and beginning the build---after all gentlemen we must keep our priorities in order---beverages always come first (hehe).

Seriously, I've been away on business, and the Tammy Pershing gets cracked open tomorrow night.

As with several of the other erstwhile pigs, I too have yet to locate the kit, much less open the box!!! (++)

I also have my official excuse: I just returned from a four-day TDY trip to Hotlanta

As promised, a pic of in-progress Bv 155...

Arrows indicate 1. the fillet Ihad to add to the wing root...both sides.
and 2. the ill-fitting rad fairings.
There's an odd spot of work needed here and there.
No filler any where as yet.

On the rad fairings I was thinking of cementing a very thin piece of plastic card and sand down to shape or filler or both? Any thoughts please?

Cheers

Fellow Pork Loins.

The Tamiya Pershing is 90% constructed. Even a "ham" like myself can build this kit -- no flash, perfect fit, clear directions--- a true shake and bake kit.

Hopefully some completed pics in a week, with the Pershing posed in a "natural DSB setting".

In progress, hull completed, working suspension, turret in progress--not much to see yet (hehe)

I Hope all is going with well with the rest of my Sty-mates.

Signed
Bacon jr

My #2 pig pile report: The Boston (A-20J Havoc) Has progressed nicely. Interior installed, Fuselage joined wings and stablizers attached. This is the AMT 1/48 kit, and so far it has been a well fitting kit. Then came the attaching of the nose radome! It comes in two halves, attaching to the firewall and fuselage at the same time. Bummer! Not a good fit at all, there is a large gap in front of the windscreen that has to be filled with not much room to work. And there is high and low places on each side of the radome that needs leveled and I'm not just sure how I am going to fix this yet. Other then this it has been a great build. I am taking pic's today, and hope to post them soon.
Onward and upwards my piggy mates! (++)

Hello all. I do have one set of road wheels completed and attached to my M26 Pershing. I hope to get a coat of paint on it sometime this week.

Still need to decal, complete and paint the commander figure, and add storage to the rear deck. I'll pose this Pershing on an uneven terrain base to show the "workable" suspension from Tamiya. (++)

Bv 155 progress...
fixed the ill-fitting rad fairings and done prelim panel shading....just to make sure everything is lined up etc.
Now working on fascia and cowling.
Next will be the canopy and sorting out some decent anchor points for the main undercarriage legs.

Cheers

Got some work done this weekend on my "Commonwealth Build" Stuart and "Overlord Build" M-10.. so technically that get's me closer to starting the "Pig Pile Build" subject!!!.. unless of course I start fiddling with my "Incoming Build" Grille (If I decide which one to do)..
