Hey Dudes,
I just bought some stencils last week from RJ products and they are the Stencil-It brand boy was I shocked at the detail theey gave.I bought the british Divisions and US Stars and numbers.I also got some serial #s coming and the other british formations and Tactical symbols. They are great!!! it beats buying decals and setting solutions and other chemicals.
All you need is paint and some good quality time. This works for me because I like Allied models and Love to paint since I paint for a living .www.rjproducts.com STENCIL -IT try it

I am a very satisfied customer of there's

I have quite a few of these sets too and I do agree that they are great but some times if you are working on some parts they can be a pain where the sun never shines...A little trick I use is to use some masking tape and a sharpe exacto knife to make a sencil that will stay right up against those compound curves ...Dry transfers are awesome too ..Archer Rocks!

I suppose there are certain situations when stencils might have an advantage, but I'm a big fan of Archer dry transfers.

I do all of my decals on my own printing them at 1200 dpi with a wax printer (Alps/Oki). The detail is superb and the decal film is so thin that it just disappears without the need of any setting solution just sealing it with a coat of future. Transfers are great but, in my view, they suffer from two problems: they tend to become unusable with time and it's quite difficult to apply them on non flat surfaces. Stencils are great too, but you need an absolutely flat surface, unless they are not made with masking tape alike material.
In the end buying such a printer costs a few stencils or Archer transfer sets and you can print whatever you wish. These are a few samples of what I achieve with my decals:

Scoccia,

These models look damn good, but you must keep in mind that not everybody has the oportunity to buy/use a wax printer: most of us wil have a inkjet, and these have the nasty habity that the ink is not waterproof. I already inquired for sealant to be aquired over here in Europe, but never received a satifying answer.
