im thinking of copying parts for a die cast restoration by liquid resin and have absolutly no idea, 1where to get the stuff from,(in the uk), and, 2 whats the best way to copy parts? its a rocket "bell" thruster so is not too complex , but im thinking of making more complex stuff later. and with this post ive made the ton! SHOWTIME 100!!!! #:-)

It is funny you mentioined it because I am looking for basiclly the same thing. I need to copy a bucnh of diffrent things but not for die cast but I need to copy a bunch of equipment. I need to know what to get to make the mold and what to cast it with. Plus I need to know where and what exactly to get.....sorry no help but I am in the same boat!!

Place where I get my casting supplies (in the US) is Micromark.com. They have a resin casting starter set ($70) that has just about everything you will need to get you going. It is item # 82698. If the price is too steep you can always get what you need separately.

There are two good places that I use in the UK:

http://www.tiranti.com and http://www.modelshop.co.uk

Both carry a wide range of resins and RTV rubber. The staff are helpful and can advise you on what best suits your needs.

Here in the US you can get a starter set from Smooth-On for around $30.00. http://www.smooth-on.com
