ok so this is the official thread.. i will post my racer here,,,

i am in with my death vally dragin wagon the lil stogie!!

StockCar/RallyCross Mini finished ! These cars were essentially home made. Front ends were almost always swapped for one-piece fibreglass parts that gave better access, windscreens drilled to improve visibilty on dirt tracks, all other glass removed and roll cages fitted. All of these were incorporated in my model.

PS: it doesn't show in the photos too well, but the roof is dayglo orange! (well, the brief does specify 'bright colours!)

Dave: Superb job!! You nailed the criteria in every way!! I remember watching a race with minis somewhere around the early 70's. It is one of the first racing memories I have actually...

Peter: This is how Dave rolls... I'm thinking we are going to have to have a GB where the goal is to beat Dave in being the first to finish a GB model... (but I know that is futile )

I'm eager to step in, but it'll be a while yet. Until I do though, I'll keep watching this excellent campaign idea. I'm already surprised by the variety.

Hopefully my 'build 2' will be acceptable - as you can see it's hardly started. Kitbash between the Airfix 1/32 4WD Mini rally car and the standard road version. No idea what it'll look like at the end, but it'll be a racer of sorts!



The rest of the parts were used to make a roadgoing Countryman.

Bini (BMW Mini) racer completed. Roll cage, wide wheels, stripes, vivid colours and numbers on a white background - yup!





The VW behind it is the next project - a 'just for fun' conversion of the Tamiya Beetle to a Baja Bug.
