Have any of you seen this new monster kit coming from Accurate Armour?!
It's a 1/35th Scale LCT(4) Landing Craft. It is an amazing 62 inches long! Man, talk about a model. It could be filled up with some member's entire collections! Would this not make a nice center piece?!
Ohh, and by the way, it'll only cost you about $750!!!
More can be seen here:

Yep that the biggest ship kit I have ever seen. I can't imagine the space to display it let alone the cost of it. Very cool but not to practical for me. #:-)

Howdy Kenc!
Many thx for the pics of my next acquisition!

No, seriously. After reaching as deep in my pocket as I had to to purchase the Accurate Armour Super HET Tank Transporter, the new LCT(4) is on my 'to get' list. In fact I'm thinking about making it one of my present's to myself this Christmas (since, word is, that after the first of the year the price is supposed to go up substantially).
And unless my math is wrong, the price I mentally figured it out to be was closer to about $460.00 American, since the exchange rate is just a wee bit higher than a 1:1 ratio (I think it's something like 15%-18% higher). So that would actually be around the same price as the Super HET was.

A modeler friend of mine in Alaska scratchbuilt an LCT(6) in 1/35th scale back in the mid-80s. IIRC, it was about 4 feet long -- the hull looked like a skateboard before he began adding the superstructure and other details. I have a pic of it under construction somewhere -- if I can find it I will put it in my model gallery.
Here's a link to a Navy photo of an LCT(6):
http://www.history.navy.mil/photos/images/h98000/h98533.jpg It was similar to the LCT(4), but the bridge was offset to one side and a gate waas added to the rear so vehicles could drive straight on.

LOL.....no Kenc, it's just that my two older daughter's have left the house and are on their own, my two younger children are managable financially (for the most part), and I don't have other more expensive hobbies like some of my neighbor's, i.e., restoring Hot-Rod's, etc. that can eat up a whole lot more money than the LCT(4) kit in chrome alone!!!
Tread.
Besides, my only problem with buying these kits is, my wife says "so, when are you going to build THAT one!" I try not to be a (++) about it, and always remain an

......but that doesn't work out that way all the time

There are a series of pics of the IDF unloading a dozen or so M113's from some sort of landing craft- tank..
I've always wanted one...
Let's see,US $0.05 per empty bottle returned, 20 bottles per dollar, 20 times 700=14,000 , 20 times 50 =1000 so an even 15,000 empties.. no problem!

This seems to be the trend lately. All those huge 32nd scale jet kits, giant cannon, 1:350 scale aircraft carriers 35th scale boats (Class VII U-Boats and LST's) and tank transporters. Ain't life grand

Very nice and interesting kit (except the price - ouch!) - my problem would be building 9 cromwells! I have enough problems at the minute finishing single kits. I will look out for this at the nationals though as I bet it is pretty spectacular to see - painted or not.

How far is this going to go? Just how many of us can afford these monsters? Or even have room for them... This is
NOT the most expensive kit on the market, that honor(

goes to Andrea's 1/35th Type IX U-Boat which is over $1000. And they still charge for postage...the world has gone mad #:-) JIm

I don't know how big that model is but I do know one thing: If I spent that much money on a model it better be big enough for me to sleep under because my wife would throw me out of the house ;0
