Hi guys,

There are some questions i really wonder how u do ?

1) Are you mostly focused on some period and theater ? Like WWII europe, eastern, africa, modern etc..or you make what ever do you find?
2) Are you mostly making AFV or do you make also Sci-fi, ships, planes etc..?
3) Is there a specific way to display your models in your shelves ?
For exemple, i have a board with seven shelves, the top shelf belongs to "Ladymodeller2" Figures and vignettes etc..
And.my top first shelf is for German vehicles..but..comes from Pz II - III -IV- VI etc..
and the second is for US comes from M3, M3A1, M4, M4A1, M4A3 ....till M2 Pershing.
The 3rd for Russians etc..
DO u have this kinda way that u follow ?

Thanks from now .

M113,

1. Not focused on any period or theater. Build just about anything that sits on the ground.
2. AFVS, tracked, softskins, SP arty, etc.
3. Shelves are organized by WW2 stuff on one shelf and Modern stuff on the other, with some dios scattered about.

Never really thought about organizing the shelves more than that but now that you mention it, I may do what you did, by country of origin.

Since, I have X number of hours a week to focus on modelling, I tend to focud on a single subject. I started the Abrams project a year ago and decided I need more info, so I have just spent countless hours studying it. This tended to exclude all else. I find when I am hyped on one subject, I stick with it until I am hyped out. In this case it's lasted a year now.

I don't think that "focused" is a good word for me. "Nuts" might be a better term. #:-)

I have tried to focus myself if only to help provide some self-control. Enjoy way too much searching for kits to buy and not enough time on building. My focus is mainly modern (post-Korean) US, British, Russian and Israeli AFV. As far as displaying kits I am also in the process of finishing off part of our basement and plan on building shelves to display kits. Plan on arranging by potential combatants.

Life's too short to get focused! Confused, indiscriminate, undisciplined but no one can ever accuse me of getting too focused.......Jim

With my recent battles with my bifocals, focused is a nasty word for me. When I first got back into modeling I was going to "focus" on making models representing vehicles from moves, i.e. the Lee from Sahara. That lasted all of one kit. Next I decided to "focus" on Allied armor, mainly American. Then I decided I would like to specialize in British or Commonwealth vehicles, both AFVs and soft skinned. I've also been involved in two non armor campaigns, for ships and figures, and I might do them again from time to time.

As to displaying them so far I've got kits scattered over serveral shelves. I hope to some day have shelves just for models and then I'll probably display them however they look best.

I've got three main 'foci'...

1/35 Armor, WW2 and older
1/72 Aircraft, WW2 and older
1/72 Helicopters.

I think just about everything in my model stash falls into one of these broad categories.

Yes, Italian Cavalry fom WWII onwards
2) Are you mostly making AFV or do you make also Sci-fi, ships, planes etc..?
To date only AFVs and one 120mm figure
3) Is there a specific way to display your models in your shelves ?
Yes I've got two window cases with five shelves each. Starting by the top left to the bottom right shelf the models are (and will be) ordered by Regiment

I build anything that I want or feel like building. I mostly do German armor when I model armor, and a mix of nations for when I do aircraft.

Built mainly 1/72 aircraft for the first 10 years, then European sports and racing cars, mainly Ferrari. Tried a tank for a break at the start of the year, then did another, and now I'm tackling a 1/48th aircraft.

The worrying thing is that I am really missing having a big ugly tank to work on. I have no interest in things military but I really did enjoy the two tanks, especially the Chieftain - even although I started to get sick of the sight of it after six months!

My surviving 1/72 aircraft are boxed up in a cupboard, along with most of my cars. The few cars I have on display are in an old china cabinet in a spare room.

But somehow the tanks have managed to take up tactical positions in the wifes china cabinet in the lounge.
