How do you guys remove chalk pastels that is already in the model? I have weathered my F-22 very nice but I forgot to place the decals! So my plan is to remove it, apply the decal and weather again

I remove the pastel dust by simply washing the model in the sink.
Use a slow water flow with a soft paint brush, and be sure to use the drain screen just in case you knock a piece off.

Hi Shonen Red

I agree with the others... but if you really like what you've done so far, you could seal it with a gloss coat, let that dry and apply the decals.

Once the decals are dry, apply a matt coat (pastel work better over a matt finish) and weather the decals to match.

It really depends on how confident you are of getting the pastels looking as good again as you've just done them...

Good luck

Same for me too...Allthough I usually don't wash my complete model, I dip a ear-stick (if it's called like that in English ) in some water and use that on the model directly..

Hi Johan

I reckon that's a "cotton-bud" ... and that's what I'd go with to wash the model...
