In case you haven't seen the latest copy of FSM, they have the results of the reader's choice. The category that I look forward - armor - to each year really took me by surprise. All of the top three choices were U.S. WWII vehicles! The DUKW, the M26, and the M3 Stuart.

Maybe now the manufacturers will take notice and produce some more for our too long neglected genre. ( Hey I can hope can't I ?!)

Hi Kencelot

I think you usually get FSM a bit ahead of us in the UK... but I'll say in advance... I'm all for neglected subjects (aircraft or armour) being kitted. What did they say about aircraft?

I answered a recent Revell (Germany) survey with a request for a 1/48 Henschel Hs 126... what's the chance of that appearing from one of the "Majors"?

All the best

Rowan,
For 1/48 scale aircraft, the Tamiya P-47D Thunderbolt was #1 (and only missed by 2 votes getting kit of the year over the Trumpeter 1/350 USS Hornet) Anybody want to place an early bet on what next years "Kit of the Year" will be? I'd lay odds on the Tamiya T-55.

Later,
Mike

I think one of the Leopolds will beat out the T-55. The voters usualy go for something big and flashy, ground breaking kits. Now Squadron always chooses an Airplane (go figure)

All the above kits are great choices , but I will throw out Acadamy's new 1/32 Super Hornet.. It is going to be an interesting year as far as kits go.

Just had my renewal notice for my Squadron flyer, they have the Academy 1/32 Hornet as their kit of the year on the cover of the 2004 catalogue.

(Rant mode on)

Lets hope to see more non-German WW2 armour in the next year, I personally want real subjects not 'pie in the sky' Luftwaffe/Wermacht 1946 projects.

(Rant mode off)

Happy modelling :-)
