you wake up at 2am to paint your models because its to humid any other time.
you bring a container with you to work save stuff you can use for ground work.
you ask for time off 3months in advance to go to a model show.
the people at the hobby shop know you by name even though it's a 2hr drive thier.
the pic wallpaper on cell is your last finished work.
Every vacation you been on you always fine lhs.

When you turn to your kids while at the register and say, " Remember, you dont tell your mom that we came to the hobby shop or that I bought a model ok ? "

It's a six mile bicycle ride for me and yes they do know me by name.

of course I'm usually there three times a week.

ooh ooh ohh, Miss my hands up for all the above.
My addition is when you resent the wife going to work in the car cause now you can't go down to the LHS for that length of brass rod that you must have right now. Damn wife, she's getting baked beans on toast for dinner tonight.

When you can't remember which shade of white your walls are, but can remember the exact ratio of three diferent greens to make a passable od.
Or you can mix the precise ratio of colors to make od, chocolate brown, us armor sand, etc.
I have 15 different shades of green, 8 shades of brown, and yes my phone's wallpaper is my latest build. I've stopped spending money on my gf, just so I can buy more kits, supplies, bandaids(almost took my finger off with an unexpetedly sharp blade).

when you finally get a day off:
you wake up early for more time at the bench.
you stay up late and work on lates build and get up and start working some more.
you tell your girlfriend/wife/etc. your to tired to go out and spend a couple of hrs at the bench.

as its been said already, i still cant get over this one. if this was price is right, this would be answer number 1
buying kts you have no need for. just buying it to have it and will eventually use it later.
my LHS has verlinden kits and figures clearanced at 50% so, ive been buying em up. bought the 1/32 soldiers that are urinating and defacting. Have no need for them and will have to come up with a comical spot in a dio or something, just to use them.

This actually describes me perfectly. Except, I tell my bench that I need a couple of hours with my girlfriend.

type (figures, armor, softskin, helos, boats, arty, aircraft)
scale (1/32, 1/35, 1/16, 54mm, 150mm, etc.)

You are reaming out your glue applicator and accidentally run the 19" piece of music wire through two fingers. And, your first thought is "d*mn I hope I didn't get any blood on the model".

... you loooooooove the smell of tamiya glue in the morning!
Or,
...when you take a emty box of a kit you already bought (and is known by your wife) and go to your LHS, buy a new one and put the new stuff in the box to smuggle inside the house...
(this is no fiction, i know a guy who does this for real...

)
(Cool topic Matt

All of my stories are true. I'm addicted and let nothing stand in my way. Well, except for the occassional lack of paint. I've come up with some interesting shades of OD.

When you loose half of your kitchen to storing unbuilt models cause your spare bedroom is already full of spare parts and the other spare bedroom is a work shop/paint shop .
When you go through your girl friends jewelry box looking for a necklace with the right size chain because you need it for a project.
When you buy a $75 model just for the road wheels because you cant wait for store to restock the kit which is nothing but road wheels.
When your out and about and go past a building site and grab a bag of dirt because its super fine and might be useful in a dio
When you rearrange your entire lounge so your new desk/bench will fit .
When your new desk/bench is over half the wight of your lounge and a quarter of its length
