when your wife/partner wants to go around all the shops (food shopping, clothes, dvds etc) and you'd rather go the LHS and spend 3 or 4 hours looking at all the new kits and probably buy just one, but then that one kit becomes your passion for the next few nights LOL

When you are at school/work/ or on vacation and start going through withdrawals, start sweating, panting, drooling, speaking incoherently and the only thing that brings you back is the smell of plastic mixed with glue and burning swear words spurting forth from you mouth. Then all is fine in the world.

And some of you are really sick, not like me.

I just let my own hair grow out. Go to the barbers and keep some of the clippings.

What little hair I have left is probably grey, unlike my daughters at the time which was a lovely black, long and very strong .

...when you use your young kids as an excuse to go to hobby lobby and forage for kits{40% off coupon} and usable things for said kits.
...when you tell yourself, "just one more kit purchase, then I'll stop for a while because I really don't need any more!"...and then you buy another anyway.

...Other related excuses - it was on sale...I've always wanted that one...I need another to build the other version...this one will be great for parts or a kitbash...oh, forgot I bid on that one too..I need this one for that campaign build I'll possibly sign up for{and then ya don't sign up because you've got too many other builds going on still}...when the wife yells to you, "hey the kids are in bed and why don't you come and work on me"{you know that voice}...."Mmmmm, ok hun, give me just a few minutes to finish this up", and an hour or two later...........or the ever popular "every 28 days- roughly" your staying confined, where it's safe, at the modeling table!

Ok, that's just wrong!
...you know those closets are too small for a decent kit of any kind..."paint and supplies go there!"

You know you are a plastic addict when:

you go on holiday and you study maps of cities and the location of Hobbyshops, Museums, Nice sightseeing places and other remains from the era of interest and all the routes to and fro, with more military precision then the US Para's before jumping into Normandy.

If you can say with a steel face the words: "Will you look at that! This city is really littered with hobbyshops. Here is another one!!

"I'm sorry honey that we only have 15 minutes to do some shopping for you and your family but how often do you think I get the chance to photograph an SdKfz 222, 251, 250, Hetzer and an SdKfz 10, SdKfz 8, SdKfz 7 and 6 and Panther and jagdpanther in such detail. You need to spend a lot of time to get good reference material.

Glad to see we are keeping this going. Nothing like a coffee and bit of modelling humor to start the day off right(unless of course you have a new kit to dive into at 1am). Insomnia works for me.

....when you go to the local hobby store to browse the selection even though you were just there yesterday and you know nothing has changed since then.

...when you have 5 kits around you that you have started. not a single one of them is close to done. YET, you cant help to keep buying new ones.

...when buying a new house, one of the deciding factors is a great modeling room or more preferrebly, a whole furnished basement to yourself, and plenty of space to put completed kits.

....you watch the military/history channel more hours out of the day than you are actually at work, just for references or ideas for new projects.

....to add onto the post above this....you just completed a model of a tank that you have physically done 56 times already. yet, you do it because it will be different

You know when you are addicted to plastic when you replace the family photo's in your wallet with pic's of built subjects

You paint the house in olive drab and put up lozenge wall paper .

You turn your back yard into one huge dio !

The hobby shop calls you to fill an order and if you have in " stock "

When you are the only one in the hobby shop who can wear 1/144 mustangs as earrings !

You know you're a plastic addict when you have planes and helicopters hung from the ceiling in every room of the house, including the bathroom and kitchen, and your "skies" are becoming too crowded!

That's cool! I'd like to see those. You know, 1/700 Hellcats might be better sized. Is this crazy? Here we are designing jewlery!
