Hi guys,
I was wondering if there ever was such a vehicle as shown on page 1.
I still have the old crane from the Academy m579 Fitter in the sparebox and I was thinking of putting it on the back of a humvee.
Any real pictures of such a vehicle ??

Hi Gé,
Yes this is a real vehicle. Before I started the scale project I compared the Academy M579 Fitter crane assembly to the one on the HMMWV and they didn't look the same. This doesn't mean that it hasn't been mounted on one. I just haven't seen any.
I plan to get this model back to the center of the bench as soon as I finish the '55 Chevy PU.
Thanks for looking in and the bump...

Hi KoSprueOne,
What I mean is this vehicle actually in use with the US army ?
I mean on the frontbumper you can see a small black star and something on the left that looks like the number D41 ????
Don't you have any more pictures of this vehicle ?
And what about a HIAB crane like on the M977 HEMTT ??

Thanks for your compliment, Bat-213
Hi Gé,
This vehicle was on display by the Naval Special Warfare Development Group on a US Navy base. I asked them if it had an "M-..." designation yet and they said not yet because it's a new specialty vehicle platform.
The bumper has a black star and the number '041'
I have 4X6 prints only right now and I don't have a scanner. These are the pictures I'm working off of.
I also have the Italeri M-977 HEMTT kit and it is not like that one either. The only option I've found is to scratch build the crane

Haha, thanks, CCIII!
I almost didn't believe it either. First saw it at about 200 yards and had to do the couple steps left then a couple steps right to establish 3D visual reference.
As soon as I saw that the crane arm was mounted on the HMMWV, I headed right for it to get a closer look . . . and take pictures
