One method you could do is to place it in hot (boiling) water for a short while - a couple of minuets, remove and while still warm very gently bend back into place as it cools. You can do this a couple of time till it gets back into shape.

If you can fashion some sort of clamp to hold it in it's proper position, than place it in the boiling water for a couple of mins., remove and set into cold water. Repeat if necessary

Thats the only safe way I know, damn resin has a bad tendancy to do this too. Watch it after you build it. Had a friend who built one of those resin HMS Hood kits, he noticed after 6 months that the bow had a very noticable droop to it

resin is badly affected by heat so if you place your completed model in a sunny spot for display it will distort.

Hot water or in some cases a hair dryer will let the resin be shaped without breaking. However it does have a memory of it's old shape so watch out for that too. Kens second method of heating, straightening and then putting in cold water is best as the cold treatment afterwards reduces the memory of the resin for it's old shape. :-)

I agree with the others, you should heat the resin so that it becomes bendable.
There are several methods :
- over a flame
- hot water
- in the microwave oven

Hi Godfather

Depending on the thickness of the part - a sword doesn't sound very thick - boiling water may be a bit severe. To be on the safe side, I'd start off a bit cooler and increase the temperature if neccessary.

Good luck:-)
