Howdy, worldwide modeling fans!
I've been checking out this site for a while now, but finally just got around to enlisting. I was surprised to see how many folks were from Asia (according to that survey), and I promise to do my best to help increase the posts from here.
I've been living in Japan for about 10 years now, mostly in Osaka (2-year stint in Tokyo). It's a great place for modeling, and hopefully I can contribute some insight on the state of the hobby from my perspective here.
In addition to all the modelers around the world, I'd love to hear from other hobbyists living here in Japan. I see there's a forum devoted to Filipino modelers, so why not Japan, too? Hey, not only would it be great fun, but it'd be a good way for ya'll to practice your Japanese so you can properly introduce yourselves to Mr. Tamiya when you come to the Shizuoka Hobby Show next year!
Ya'll ARE coming, right?
I'm looking forward to learning from and participating in these forums with everybody.
Yoroshiku!

Hi Shado1,
Welcome onboard. You have come to the right place for modeling. I'm from Hong Kong. I've been to Japan(mainly in Tokyo) several times before and visited many hobby shops there like Yellow Submarine and Kiya Hobbies. They got all kinds of stuff for modeling and collections as well.
I will give you a call next time when I go to Japan.

Welcome aboard Shado1, a.k.a.Yoroshiku ! 私達は幸せ今である!
As you can see, we're all glad to have you with us. Lets see if you can drum in some more of the Japanese modelers here and give a real good reason to start the Japanese forum!
What kind of kits do you like to build? Do you have any available that you can share with all of us here? We would love to see em!
See you on deck! 幸せな模倣!

Thanks for the warm reception, folks!
I've always enjoyed visiting this site, and figured it was about time to join in.
These days I'm mostly into armor, but I'm interested in pretty much everything. After armor, I'm very interested in SF modeling, particularly giant Japanese monsters (which go hand in hand with armor!), as well as aircraft (particularly Japanese WWII). Was heavily into cars in my teens and early twenties. Never did much ship modeling, though.
Good to hear from a few fellow modelers here in Japan! I don't have to tell ya'll how good we have it here!
Hey, can we use Japanese here?
Test: この日本語を読みますか?ダメかな?テスト!テスト!
Does that at least look like Japanese? If you can read it, I'm waiting for your translations!
See ya in the forums!

Pretty good, Kencelot! So you CAN see it! AND read it! Or did you use a translation program?
この日本語をよみますか?=Can you read this Japanese?
ダメかな in this context is more like "I wonder if it'll work."
The rest is perfect!
Cool! Now I can send secret messages and most people won't understand!
BUWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!
Just kidding.
That'd be rude!
