Read about this one in USA today yesterday. Hope this comes to light and is as good as Band of Brothers!

Cool, hope it's Marines, but any coverage of the Pacific theater is well deserved as this part of the war seems to be often overlooked

Great news. I can't think of too many things that Spielburg or Hanks have had a hand in that I haven't liked. Of course it comes down to the scripts, if they're no good it doesn't matter how good the acting or SFX is.

This will be long awaited by many of us I'm sure. I hope they take what the learned in the originale BoB and use the not so familiar actors. No one is a hero alone. No one stole the show.
I for can't wait for it to appear.

Looking forward to this! Hope they include Leyte Gulf. My grandfather was a guerilla in Cebu during the war.

Series sounds great, problem with it is not too many of the same units fought in lots of battles. It would pretty much have to be either one of the really long slogging campaigns or one kinda like the Sands of Iwo Jima, two battles with lots of spare time in between. That's if they want to maintain the historical accuracy. They could get clever and have two stories going on, one Army unit and one Marine.

Phantom Major while I do empathise with you, it is the American dollar that is paying for this and so gearing it to American soldiers makes sense. I would like to see flics of the Greeks in the earlly part of the war as well as an epic involving Kursk and another for El Alemein. I believe they did do a Chindit movie way back when, I remember seeing something akin to that .................great flic.
