Although the use of beauticians emery boards is an old idea there may be some of you that have not tried these. I had never used them till I started on armour and now I find them the most handy tools I have. They are available in a range of abrasive grades down to really fine and are much easier to use than my old swiss files. Also being card mounted they can be cut down to fit inside a gap/slot/hole and also being flexible are great on curved surfaces.
As I do all my modelling on a shoe string I also rate highly anything that does'nt cost much and does a good job.
An added bonus for a sad old man like me is that buying them gives me an opportunity to chat up the nice young ladies at the beauty counter......!
Regards Dave

I couldn't agree with you more KiwiDave. I use em all the time...except I just take (ask first of course) from the Mrs., and I don't get to chat with the ladies at the counter.
They are one of those great little tools we just happen upon...sometimes.

Hi Kiwi Dave
More good tools from the same counter are the padded nail-buffers. They range from coarse to polishing grade and, being padded, conform to curved surfaces - helping avoid flat spots.
Just like emery boards, you can cut them to the size you need.
How's that! A whole new subject for chat-up lines!!
All the best

Hey Kiwi,
Yes they are great little items to have on the modeling table. Now, if I could just keep them there! The wife, two daughters and 4 grand daughters keep swiping the darn things!
