i've been using Verlinden epoxy putty... before ! but it seems that it has been discontinued . is there any substitute for this?.. by the way is Duro A+B available in Home Depot?

I know you can get several different types (brands) of two part epoxy putty at the DIY stores. Check the plumbing section. Grain is not as fine as some others but I use it all the time.

I've just used some Araldite Plumber's Putty, which seemed okay - a bit sticky and dark, but it worked.

thanks guys for the replies.. i did a bit research myself and i found out that some wargammers are using the "green stuff" for sculpting figures. somehow it's not available in some Hobby Shops here in Toronto so i tried Games Workshop,it's available for roughly $10 (CAD) i bought one and tried it at home and somehow it has very good consistency..
a company named POLYMERIC SYSTEMS has it own brand name "Kneadatite" -green stuff putty.
you guys ever heard of it or do you have any feedback.??...

There are many, many types of epoxie putty. There are five that are most used by modelers. They are:

1. Milliput
2. A&B
3. Kneadatite
4. Apoxie
5. Magic Sculp

Milliput is the standard in Europe and comes in three different degrees of granularity. A&B is the hardest after setting and is like granite (tough on drill bits). If strength isrequired A&B is the way to go.

Kneadatite used to be called Duro and is the most flexible of putties. It dries to a rubbery consistency and can be mixed with other putties to provide a higher degree of density.

Apoxie and Magic Sculp are similar and both dry to a density that makes it easy to carve and sand.
