Since we have quite an interest in the F-16 subject, i just thought we could share out tips, tricks here.
My first contribution would be this release from Kinetics Model

The twin seater retails at USD$35.88 with shipping to Singapore.
Product highlights:
WAR HUD, AIM-120B and AIM-120C missiles, positionable slat/flaps,
GBU-38 bombs included.
450+ Parts
"Rich" Weapons List included:
AGM-9M, AIM-120B, AIM-120C,AGM-65, AGM-88, GBU-24, GBU-31, GBU-87,GBU-12,GBU-38,Mk.82,
ALQ-131, ALQ-184,
AAQ-13, AAQ-14,AAQ-28,Sniper XR

The single seat Viper retails at USD30.87 with Shipping
Product highlights:
MLU (Mid-Life-Update)/ADF upgrade parts, NSI (small mouth) intake, PW
engine nozzle. AGM-119 missiles and AAQ-28 Sniper Pod included.
450+ parts!
Weapons List included:
AGM-9M, AIM-120B, AGM-65, GBU-24, GBU-31, GBU97, Mk.82, ALQ-131, AAQ-13, AAQ-14,AAQ-28,Sniper
XR

With the drop in US currency, i think it would not hurt so much to purchase direct, unless you guys have lobang for a cheaper source here in Singapore. My prediction, once it hit our shores, the twin seater might touch $60SGD.

Anybody experience a kinetic kit before? Share some insights?

Chin from ARMIE is taking pre-orders.

Will retail around SGD $30+ for both kits.

Have personally seen the earlier Sabre and Thunderstreak. Pretty decent stuff, similar quality to trumpeter/hobbyboss aircraft.

Seems nice since F16D has been out of production for some time.. I have been looking for a D kit for some time already cause I wanna built a Singapore Block 52 version. There are conversion kits out there for the "Hump" but a D kit is out of production from Hasegawa already...

Hi Amos,

To make the decals blend into the paint, we normally use a setting solution. Either Microsol or Mr Mark Softer will do. You can get them easily at most hobby shops. Also, before applying the decals, make sure that the surface is really glossy so as to avoid the 'silvering' effect.

Your F-16 looks great except that the vertical stabaliser is positioned a little too far forward. I presume that this is the Academy kit? How did you do the AoA probes on the nose? None of the 1/48 scale Vipers save for the Tamiya one comes with these probes.

Looking forward to seeing more of your work!

It's actually $30.90 for the F-16A MLU and $37.90 for the F-16DG/DJ. These are pre-order prices only. After the kits arrive, they'll cost $39.90 and $46.90 respectively.

If you want to order, I can help you place it with Chin. Just shoot me a PM with which one(s) you want and how many.

Thanks Mad... It is a kit from academy, as for the AoA, they are just toothpicks painted chrome. Looks ok from far but quite noticable if view near..
I welcome any comments or suggestion to improve on the AoA though...

For non airbrush user who still wants to make an Israeli Netz...here s an old 98-99 version

I ve abandon the current IAF project for this instead. I think i ll not waste my decals on an academy kit. So either i make a local F-16 or i ll do the aggressor model

Hi guys,

Just got word from ARMIE that they'll be closing the pre-order books on Thursday so quickly pre-order the Viper kits before they revert to the RRP of $39.90 and $46.90 for the MLU and DG/DJ kits respectively.

I think with the offer price, it s quite economical rather than shipping it urself..plus i got some online order problem recently.

Anybody got spare AMRAAMs? 1/48 scale. I can trade with my AGM 65 MAVERRICKS. I got 12 maverricks with decals if anyone interested.
I also need a 1/48 USAF logo for the fuselage and wings. Anybody can spare me??

RSAF F-16s are all painted in the old 3-tone grey scheme.

FS36118 (Gunship grey) and FS36270 (Medium ghost grey) topside with FS36375 (Light ghost grey) underside. All under-wing pylons are light ghost grey. Wingtip rails are medium ghost grey.

Here's a tip for the radome colour. They vary depending on how old and how much the plane is used. Older ones are a medium grey colour. As it gets more worn, the radome turns darker. I normally mix gunship grey and medium ghost grey 50/50 to get the nose colour.

Hope that helps!
